This store has a beautiful array of jewelry and I enjoyed browsing. The owner and his wife were…read morevery cordial and helpful when I bought a necklace. That changed quickly when I decided to return the item. My main complaint about Ferro Jewelers is that they misrepresented the content of the necklace that I purchased. I was told that it was 18k gold but discovered later that it was gold plated over sterling; there's a big difference. The owner, Brian Ferro, was very reluctant to refund my money, stating that most of the necklace was solid gold except for the plated clasp. If I hadn't brought a friend/experienced jeweler along with me to refute what he was saying, I don't think I would have gotten my money back. He finally refunded my money but was quite irritated about it. I would venture to say that when most people attempt to return something, he is able to confuse them with his "jeweler talk." Fortunately I had my own jeweler with me who knew the truth. I got out of the store as quickly as I could. Buyer Beware!

The manager (I believe he's called Brian) and staff were rude and dismissive. They acted as they…read morethey were doing me a favour to sell me an item I was interested in (I did not purchase it). Also, there were some discrepancies between the quality of the item and what I later learned. Prior due diligence is important before purchasing something at this store. Finally, all the warning signs about their display cases are phony. I accidentally touched the surface of one and nothing happened. Reading the manager's response to their negative reviews makes it obvious he spends more time refuting the reviews and shaming the reviewer rather apologizing for his behaviour.

I really didn't want to leave this review. I tried to talk to the owner multiple times reasonably…read moreto avoid a poor review for his store. Unfortunately, once these people take your money, there is no getting it back. They gave me the "my car broke down after 10,000 miles, do you think I get my money back" speech. And proceeded to tell me I wasn't the first customer to try to get my money back from a broken watch, and that "you're not going to get it, too bad." (Verbatim words from the owner, "too bad") I brought in a greater than 300 dollar Michael Kors watch for repair about 4 months ago. I had broken a clasp off on the side at the end of my night shift, and the watch was stuck on 5 AM. Instead of fixing the clasp, the shop owner called me up and told me the repairs were extensive, and would cost 150 dollars to repair. I was hesitant, since I needed a new watch (I'm a nurse) and that was essentially the cost of a nice new watch from JC penney or Kohls. But I really liked my blue faced watch so I told these so called "experts" to go ahead and repair it for $150 dollars. Worst mistake of my life. I've gone back to these people 3 times now, and yesterday the owner flat out refused to refund my money, despite me having to go back multiple times with a broken, lagging watch; despite other problems like the watch stopping all the time. They insisted I take it home with me after the 3rd fix, and again it stopped less than 2 hours later. When I called for a refund for the 4th time, I was again berated and given the car story and "too bad." They are worse than car mechanics. They should make the NO REFUNDS sign much bigger than the handwritten scrawl that they laugh and point to when you've given them all your money and they've "used it" to "fix" your watch that is still broken. And be very cautious giving this business your money. They WON'T give it back, even if they can't fix your watch.

I needed a new watch battery. 2 jewelry stores in the mall could do it because of the type of…read morewatch. Time for a change was able to help without any hesitation. I have a Casio watch so generally I get charged extra because of the time it takes to get the screws out and back in. Still it took less than 30 minutes and was less then $20. When I returned to pick up the watch, the owner was taking out some of the scratches on watch free of charge. I would highly recommend time for a change. He was also very friendly!

I popped in once when I lived in the area and had such a positive experience selling a few pieces of gold that when I moved three hours away to the NY area I still travel the three hours to this location. Rebecca so helpful so kind. Joe other than being funny was so informative and helpful upon selling a few more pieces. On my way out I had a few more questions and Dennis was nice enough to to Show me what a pure gold bar looks like in two different weights. I've never seen a gold bar before. They are all so lovely. I always hesitate to give a less than stellar review for places that are already very clearly…read morepoorly reviewed, but this is my household's second time coming here and second time having meh service; so, I thought I would detail my experiences. In February my husband took them an 1886 Morgan Silver Dollar for appraisal. It was in mint condition. They offered some amount around $175, but weren't really interested. I will say, the man who helped my husband was actually nice, so no complaints about him. Ultimately, we had it graded by P.C.G.S. After grading, it sold for $2100 at auction. For this reason, use this place as a second opinion, but do not allow them the privilege of being your only opinion. If you have the chance to go through a professional coin service, that is the better option. ----------- Today, I wanted to have one of my rings appraised. Again, the man answered the phone and was friendly. He told me to come in and they could look at it, but couldn't appraise for insurance purposes. When I actually got there I had the unfortunate experience of speaking with a woman. Co-owner perhaps? Who knows. In short, she looked at it and said they wouldn't be able to help because it's a Brilliant Earth Lab-Grown diamond. She was curt, short, and dismissive. Considering both experiences, this place must just be a money laundering scheme because there's no way that they're maintaining a legitimate business with this kind of behavior.

Honestly I rarely use these, so trying to be kind, I told him, "NBD, I use my phone for that" .... But, then it stopped ticking 2 days later. When I returned to the store, I requested he place a new battery in & asked that he show me the package (so I could check the expiration date). He walked out from the back with just the expired battery he removed from my watch to show me. So, I said, "No, I want to see the package of the NEW battery you're putting in, so I know it's NOT EXPIRED." He returned with his supply (i.e., 2 batteries: both expired 2020). I asked him for my $15 back, and he REFUSED because he said I did not have my receipt. Then, to make matters worse! ... on my Google 1-STAR Review of LIPPA's he lied, saying he "could not find my name anywhere in his computer system" ~ trying to make it appear as if I had the wrong Jewelry Store (funny... He never did ask for my name today; he simply stated without my yellow receipt, he would not REFUND ME $15 for dishonestly placing an EXPIRED 2020 WATCH BATTERY in my wrist watch) A THIEF is a THIEF (thieves always lie; they have, or they get caught) and a LIE is a LIE: a Tiger doesn't change their stripes, no matter how big, or small their kill is. LIPPA's does NOT DESERVE Anyone's BUSINESS, or TRUST. ~ I suppose if I walked in with an expensive suit & tie to buy an engagement ring, he would have had the decency to behave himself better & not steal from someone 65 y.o. on a fixed income. Shame on this man & his mother who raised him.

Buying rings can be an overwhelming experience but Mike and the staff were super helpful on site and thoroughly went over questions such as what we wanted; what was important to us; likes/dislikes; etc - and used that info to narrow the focus and show us options that would potentially work. Both the bride and groom are super happy with the results and Lippa's wedding bands will be with us the rest of our lives. We highly recommend Lippa's.
