At least once a month, I stop by at 7:30 AM and grab a premade Italian hoagie, asking the deli staff to add mayonnaise and oil and vinegar. They've always done this without any issues. However, this time, I was told they were not allowed to do that. It was frustrating because I was trying to save time on my way to work, and I had to let them make me a new Italian hoagie on the spot which made me late for work. When I spoke to a gentleman in the produce department about it, he seemed surprised and couldn't understand why they couldn't accommodate my simple request. Today, July 30, my Bride called in an order around 11:30 am to be ready for 5:00 Pm She ordered a pound of unsalted ham and an Italian hoagie without pepperoni. When she picked up the order and checked it in the car, she found they had given her honey ham and included pepperoni on the hoagie. She returned to the deli department, only to be told that they were closed and couldn't fix the mistake. This was particularly frustrating because we needed the order for that evening, not the next day. I'm very disappointed with the recent operation of the deli department. Management needs to take a closer look at what's going on and ensure that customer service standards are maintained.

There are even times when I will run out of milk or eggs mid-week, and find myself stopping here for those items rather than shopping closer to home. In the several years my family has been shopping here, I have only had one incident where I was charged x2 for an expensive cut of Parmiggiano reggiano cheese but it was corrected during my next visit. The Wegman's brand organic items like the milk, eggs, and dairy creamer leave nothing to be desired. Not to mention their bakery! An absolute gem. Who needs a Whole Foods, anyways? Certainly not I.
