Parking at the Macks Lane end can be challenging depending on the time of day, with a couple of spots and enough room to park on the side. There's enough room while getting out, and plenty of space to move around while getting to the trail. At the Johnson-Iorio Memorial Park end, there are plenty of spots to park at. Depending on your direction, the trail has an uphill/downhill gradient along the way. It's a workout for sure when going uphill. It's very easy to trip with so many rocks and tree roots on the ground, so please take caution. The trail is well indicated by its color and is shown on the tree barks hung up. Of course, the maps are provided at each trailhead for convenience. UPDATE: The white trail which I recently took is a cool trail, doing a loop that connects with the yellow in a different spot not too far from that starting point. It is steep in this section, which requires small steps along the way. There is also a shortcut to cut over to the other side to make it shorter (don't recommend it). Also, on the way, there are ruins, which were once a big Mansion that was abandoned in 1949, with unknown information on how it got destroyed. Pretty cool history. When in doubt, take a rest, it's needed.

I love that throughout the trail you have little signs explaining fun facts about the animals you find there and insects such as frogs and fireflies. Really cool to learn while you walk. Came here in November for some photos but there wasn't too much foliage. Can't imagine how beautiful the park must be during spring with their apple blossoms and being able to Apple pick too! The cool thing is this park is run by a nonprofit, The Friends of Peach Hill and they're always looking for volunteers to help maintain this beautiful place. Porta potties available and beware of ticks. Signs are posted everywhere when you first walk in and I took my very first one home from just walking around and being in low cut grass area. That's the only downfall and main thing I can't evennnnnn deal with in the north east. Other than that, cute park with lots of picnic tables and areas where you can enjoy creation.

Most of the side trails are connectors leading from one trail color to another, but please put on a sign in there indicating it. My sense of directions are great, while some others it may not. For the mud on the red trail, please take caution as it can be very messy due to rain. My advice, just turn around and take a different trail color. A major upgrade would be great for this park. There's plenty of parking space to fill each row while providing enough room. It's pretty easy to pessimistic in the lot which shouldn't lead to chaos. Depending on the time of day will determine how crowded it will be. Something that caught my eye was I did not see a map of the park, which is a big turnoff. Finding my way to the path was not hard, thanks to having a color assigned to the trail. One trail leading toward the east will come out to the Wappingers Creek, with it branching to another trail heading south and the other north. The trail running parallel will lead to a dead end. The other park seen is the Wappinger Creek Greenway Trail across the creek. The other trail toward the beginning goes uphill towards the Eastdale apartment buildings. Another trail just before the branch contains a loop trail. There's a total of three trails, green (the main), yellow, and red. Some of the trails have grass in the way. Awesome park and trail, but please provide a map at the physical site to up my rate.

Expanding it further from Tony Williams Park to New Paltz is a dinger. I'm glad to see that the expansion took place. This section of the trail starts at the Walkway Over the Hudson. Most of the trail is flat along the way with gradual uphill and downhill, and nothing steep. It's easy to spot especially when riding a bike. Be on the lookout for bikers when moving on foot since the trail is not that wide. The trail is concrete along the journey, which doesn't make it difficult for bikers. There is no line drawn, at least on this portion. Overall, a great trail but I do wish they would upgrade with bathrooms along the way.

Don't think that a small number of Yelp reviews means this place is a hidden gem, just about every available parking spot was taken today, including the 10 special parking spots closer to the water. The occasional sounds of passing trains, boats on the river, and a jet going to/from Stewart Airport add to the ambiance. From the regular parking lot, it's a 2-3 minute walk, under the tracks, to the park proper. There's plenty of chairs, picnic tables, and grills. There's a well-maintained restroom facility (masks currently required) as well as a porta-potty in the back parking lot. Closing times are based on sunset, so plan an evening visit accordingly.

The red trail trailhead begins inside Berean way past the playground while the parking lot trailhead features an authorized (work) roadway which is shared with pedestrians (open to the public). The trails are mainly steep which contain a lot of rocks and stomps, so do take caution. Some parts of the trail, especially the white is pretty narrow right toward the edge of a drop and doesn't have a fence or guardrail. I think putting something there would be a great benefit especially those with physical issues. Signature along the way is well marked, while the trail is pretty obvious due to the shape of the gravel. One highlight of the hike is a fire pit and benches on the red trail, looking the lake and Berean Park. With a big property, there's a lot to explore.

Most of its journey parallels the Wappinger Creek once you're far in from the entrance. In the beginning, the surround includes a lot of trees and hills to the mix before approaching the creek. There are a couple of bridges along the way which require caution, as it is a bit wiggly. The trail then leads to a big field, which is somewhat unmarked, but noticing the dirt will help a bit. Eventually, at the end of the trail, there is a lookout with a bench that overlooks the creek along with a nice view of viewing the Overlook Golf Course. Overall, it's 1.25 miles one way. After that, walk the opposite way while enjoying different scenery. Also, there is one branch at the beginning that follows the creek in the north direction that follows for a bit which ends at a loop, with the branch trail lasting less than a mile. Parking on the other hand is what's bringing me down 1 star since there's not a lot of space to work out with. It's a hit and miss, in the long run, so the time of day is undetermined since it varies day by day, except at early dusk. Two cars may fit on the grass if lucky, depending on the size of the car. With that, it's a wonderful park to take in, with the nice water sound and a lot to look around.
