Bob and his guys painted our house. The cost was reasonable and the work was awesome! Their cleanup was immaculate and the house looks amazing. He worked with us on picking the right colors, he has a lot of experience if you are undecided, can help you see the pros vs cons of darker vs lighter colors and trim colors, whether or not to paint the gutters. We also had his guy stain our front door, it looks really nice. There was trim damage around the garage door, some big wooden decorative pieces under the windows needed to be rebuilt, and there was some dry rot. His team replaced and repaired everything. It looks fantastic and Bob is honest and easy to work with. I'd recommend him highly for all your big and small paint jobs, as well as fixing woodwork around the outside of your home. Based on a referral, and not knowing Bob was a painter, we called Bob to get a quote for some drywall work with a little painting. Bob came to our house and indicated that he could have the drywall work done and his guys would paint the finished work. It was nice that he coordinated the work done by the contractor for us. After the drywall work was completed, Bob's guys came to do the texture and painting. Ezekiel and the other two workers (sorry, I forgot their names!) were amazing. You can tell that they take pride in the work that they do. The workers were honest, kind and clean. Originally we were only going to hire a contractor for the patch work. I planned to paint the rest myself They did such a great job, and Bob's bid was so reasonable, we had them paint the interior of our home. We extended the job at the last minute creating a lot of last minute decisions that needed to be made. Bob went to the paint store with me and made suggestions based on our current color scheme. He made some suggestions to update the paint style as well. He was spot on. Our house looks amazing. We had the exterior of our house painted a couple years ago. THIS WAS A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! BOB IS A COMPLETE LYING CON MAN!!! I see the reviews and I have no idea what these people are talking about. From the very first time I met him, first thought was... this guy must have been a con man in his previous life. I recently bought a house in San Ramon. Wanted inside and outside painted. I called a few people. Bob initially quoted me double the price of what anyone else. He knew it was my first time at this and he kept saying "since you're a "----" you can afford to pay me more". I still can't figure out what I do for a living has anything to do what it should cost me to paint my house. Then we settled for the same price has his competitor in the area. They painted the inside....horrible job!!! Three months later if I lay something against a wall he has painted....the paint comes off!! He was suppose to texture a few walls but didn't...he broke a few things.... Which I notices much later. The pain is cracking. There are areas that was never covered, so they painted everything in the way...not just the walls that was suppose to be painted. They got paint all over the wood floors, which took another cleaning crew hours to clean. The formal bathroom in the house looked like a porta-toilet after his guys got done with it. It was the most disgusting bathroom I've every seen, by the time his guys got done painting my house. His guys broke my pressure washer. Most of the stuff I let slide, cause he's not the type of guy who would listen to any type of complaints. In fact, he can be down right aggressive if he doesnt agree with you. When I asked to him to paint the baseboards, like he had agreed to do so initially, he wanted to charge me an extra $2,000 just for the living area. The company who did the wood floors, charged me ~$600 to put in new baseboards and paint them. Again, that says it all. After that situation I asked him to texture some of the walls he agreed to do so initially, he lost his mind. First thing out of his month "you Fing such and such"..."you just want what you want"!!! YES BOB, it's my house and I'm paying you to do what I want...not what you want. After being cursed at and threatened by Bob, I fired him. He continued to curse at me, theartened my family multiple times. Then he wanted me to pay him for the complete job, inside and out. Even though he had done thing on the outside. He also insisted that it took longer to paint the house, therefore, I have to pay him more. This guy is a "professional" painter and supposedly he has been doing this for years, but cannot figure out how long it takes to do a job???? I insisted I would only pay him for painting the inside....which was a disaster, as I mentioned previously....I figured I take a loss at this point. Bob then threatened to send 10 people to my house to get my family if I didnt pay him for the complete job...again had not done anything on the outside. So...he did a horrible job on the paint, tried to rip me off any chance he got, then threatened my family. The BBB will be notified next. BTW I hired a different company to do the outside, wonderful job. I have had my staircase painted...the guys were great. You can find their reviews from me. I've had a lot of work done on the home (floors, carpet, roof, paint, deck,etc), only problem I've had was this guy. Stay away from this guy!!!! So update. "Dearie me"....you know more about this situation then you would unless you were related to Bob! Listen I will put up his work on YouTube real soon. Bob is a lying thief! No way around it! All while being competitively priced, Bob Dutcher was extremely responsive and did a good job on very short notice.

Bob and his team painted and completed several restorative wood repairs to our home. They used the highest quality materials and did a superb job in every respect. Before choosing Bob we obtained a quotes from essentially all the available painters in the area and spoke personally with many of them. Bob was not the lowest bit, not even close but his bid detailed numerous repairs necessary to bring the home back into pristine condition. The quality of materials used (30 yr paint) was far superior to the competition. After selecting Bob, he arrived on-time and completed the job as specified. I inspected their work and progress daily and was very satisfied. The job finished on-time and was well executed. Some months after completion we noticed a leak during a heavy rain and called Bob. Bob came to the house that very day to inspect the issue and make repairs. It turns out that the leak had nothing to do with Bob's work but he fixed it with a smile anyway. We give Bob and his team our highest recommendation. ******************************* Some months later we asked Bob to do some interior painting since we were so pleased with their exterior work. Bob helped us through the paint selection process then in true form executed the job as planned and at the quoted price. The job ended up requiring additional paint but no added cost was passed along to us. Once again we give Bob and team our highest recommendation with our thanks. Bob and his team were truly fantastic. AND competitively priced based on three other quotes I got. Bob is as pleasant as can be. He knows his craft and you can tell as he rubs his hand on wood to tell what it is and what kind of paint will work well. He stained our banisters which were the old 90s honey oak color. He then painted linen cabinets and bathroom cabinets that were also the honey oak. I was a little nervous about paint vs. stain, but it all looks fantastic. And his team couldn't work any harder. Wow, what a great paint job. When I was in college I painted houses to get through. I thought I knew something about painting. When I began to collect bids for my home I felt that the cheapest should be ok since there wouldn't be much to do but power wash the house and then tape and spray. This guy Bob gave me a low bid ,so I thought, why not? Even though he had a nasty review, I went with him because being a business owner myself, I know you can't make every one happy... and most of his reviews were very positive. I also felt I knew enough to supervise the job since it was so easy. Boy was I wrong! He didn't just paint my house, he fixed it! I haven't done much to the exterior for a long time and the house is 55 years old. Bob's crew spent 5 days just sanding, patching the stucco, priming and caulking .They filled holes in the wood, knocked off old stucco and replaced it so you can't see a difference between the old and new. Do you know how hard that is? They fixed every inch of my house. I had no idea how much work a house painter did, or should do. Bob, Ezekiel, Daniel and Arturo all worked well together as a team. You could see that they were friends. Each morning we were greeted with a smile and a willingness to please us. Bob made sure that the work was just the way he wanted it to be. He even brought in a carpenter to repair some wood work. My house is beautiful. I hope he has time in his schedule for my rental homes. He's very busy and I know why!. He gave me a great bid with a handshake....and delivered. He didn't ask for a penny more that what he bid, even though I used a more expensive paint. My house has been fixed. I got lucky. Well, dearie me! I'm wondering if the two 1-star reviewers have the right company? Actually, the second one sounds like a made-up review, probably the same person registered under another name.....that's my hunch. A couple of 1-star reviews in the midst of otherwise-stellar reviews indicates that somebody has a specific axe to grind. Perhaps the buyer did not fulfill his end of the deal and is giving bad reviews bcs Bob is holding the buyer's feet to the fire to get the money owed him. That's what it sounds like to me. Anyway...... Bob painted the entire interior of my house, and I am delighted. You should see the cut-in work they did....with a regular paintbrush. (I have to use a #1 artist's brush, and my work is light-years behind theirs!) His crew was the best. I have worked with other painters, and these guys are real pros, not untrained folks loitering on street corners. Exactly what you'd expect. They dressed like painters (in white), not grubby clothes. Everything was tarped. Cleanup was done daily and well. On-time arrival. If they were here early, they waited outside, rather than come in early and find me not being totally ready for them (such as putting the dogs in their crates). The crew and Bob even took care of some other little projects (that I couldn't do) while they were here; and at NO extra charge. Bob IS an old-fashioned kind of guy who works on a handshake. I found his handshake to be 100% of what he said he'd do. And, as noted above, he did even more than he agreed to. I'm picky (ask Bob!), and I would have no qualms about hiring Dutcher Painting again, anytime. You shouldn't, either. Best quality. mb read more

I really can't understand what the hype is all about, unless Bob is paying people to write positive reviews. I can concur with of other reviewers whom also had a horrible experience with Dutcher Painting. This guys is just out there to collect his money and run. He will excited you in the beginning as far as how they will work wonders to make your house look beautiful but as time progresses and he begins his work he will cut back on his promises as well try to CHARGE you more for little things. Bob and his team painted both the insides of our garages when we remodeled the garages (yes, we did), painted a re-claimed bedroom that we turned into a den/art room, and did a "clean coat" of white on the baseboards, kitchen cabinets, staircase. I can't say enough positive things about Bob. He is professional, competent, does what he says he'll do -- on time, on budget, and with a sense of humor. I only met Bob a few weeks ago but I feel like I've known him for years. He's got a good heart and he listens to his clients. When I first called Bob, I wanted him to start working on my house asap, becasue I wanted to be in the house before Halloween. Unfortunately, with Bob being in high demand, he was not able to fit me in his schedule. But since I really wanted to work with him, I waited until he was avaiable. Over the next couple of days, he was able to find gaps in his schedule and he was able to fit me in. I live in the foothills so meeting up with him would have been rather difficult. We discussed my needs over the phone and he got to work. After months of procrastination, I finally decided to have the exterior of my home painted. We were referred to Bob Dutcher by a neighbor who got his house painted by Dutcher Painting. Bob was prompt and competitive with his quote and we decided to engage his services. He is very detail oriented, has a sharp eye for colors and helped in deciding the right colors. He went above and beyond in getting all the paperwork needed and got the required permission from the HOA ( Home Owners Association). His men worked cheerfully and did a fine job under his eagle eyed supervision. They repaired the external finish that needed to be done and then painted the house. When there was a mistake with the paint color due to a mixup at the paint store, which I noticed after they painted an entire side of the house, he cheerfully apologized for the store's mistake, resolved the issue with the paint company and bought the correct color and repainted it without a murmur ( did not charge us for the labor or materials) . I would recommend Bob and his team without hesitation. They are a committed and professional team with a great work ethic and you can trust them to get the job done. And now am enjoying all the compliments on the new colors. Oh and Bob called back 2 times in the last month to make sure everything was to our satisfaction and if we needed any touch ups or anything.
