I have taken my slacks to be shortened and "slenderized" and I have taken two suits of Shantung silk to them. They shortened the hems on the skirt and dress, shaped the dress to more closely fit my measurements, and shortened the sleeves on both the jacket and the coat. They also explained why one modification I requested would create negative "unintended consequences". After they explained their thinking, I could understand why the modification would have been a bad idea. I recommended them to my brother, who had several pairs of dress pants taken in. They even repaired a tear in a pair of jeans. The repair was so perfectly done that I thought he had purchased a new pair --- I was unable to see where the repair was accomplished. These people know their craft. I even left their business card with my cobbler (another endangered craft with the proliferation of athletic shoes).
