Service was great and knowledgeable. There's a fantastic wine list and the food is beautiful and delicious. The atmosphere is relaxed, but it would be a great spot for a nice date.

Surprised how mediocre to poor the food tasted. Way too much salt in two different entrées. Service and atmosphere were nice.

Consistently good food! Love their salmon. The house wine is better than most label wine. The best desserts around!

I haven't been to Dusty's in years, and thoroughly enjoyed this visit for more reasons than just the baby shower.

She frequently reached out to us to help us with our menu and provide suggestions. She and her staff provided top-class service throughout the process and we could tell that she really cared about our wedding experience. Lucia was in our corner from the day we booked her and was a tremendous help with planning a wedding during a pandemic. Her expertise and high caliber of cooking took so much stress off of us as we prepared for our wedding. Now onto the food. What can I say? The food was absolutely phenomenal and full of flavor. Lucia worked with us to build a customized menu, from the ground up, that was unique to us. From our first tasting my wife and I were stoked about the food and couldn't wait for dinner. Needless to say, our guests are still raving about the food. My wife and I highly recommend An Affair to Remember Catering.

Such heart and warm smiles from Lucia and staff. you can see her face light up with pride as she watches the reaction on people's faces, someone who really puts everything into what she is doing, and it's all for you! Ever since the last time we used them, each other establishment we had cater or deliver, was a let down by comparison. Truly. You have nothing to lose by taking my word on this next part. We selected The Moveable Feast to cater my daughter's Bat Mitzvah in the midst of a global…read morepandemic, and they did an extraordinary job. Why did we choose The Moveable Feast? Well, because our congregation had a small list of approved caterers, and my daughter wanted one thing for the big celebration: a chocolate fountain. As luck would have it, The Moveable Feast has a chocolate fountain front and center on its website, so they were the obvious choice. The only other thing the Bat Mitzvah Girl wanted was bagels and cream cheese, which is her favorite food and pretty much impossible to mess up. Especially when the caterer agrees to source the bagels from Zingerman's Bakehouse. But one needs more for a luncheon than just bagels, cream cheese, and a chocolate fountain. That is where Misty Rose entered the picture. She got what we were going for and helped to round out the rest of the menu. I was told we had to get the whitefish as it was a signature dish of the company, and that was a great call. The pastrami spiced smoked salmon was tasty too. Having grilled vegetables was a fantastic idea as well. If I were to have TMF cater another event I might skip the red pepper hummus, the beet and quinoa salad, and the frittata. I make all of these things at home on the regular, and not to brag, but mine are better. However, those each served a role in the buffet, which on the whole was well received. Where The Moveable Feast shined brightest was its staff. They were extraordinary! Misty for both her flexibility and her patience in dealing with a father who was planning an event at the earliest stages of Omicron. Misty also directed me to A1 Rentals and helped to come up with several floor plans to make a 20' x 40' tent feel like a celebratory space. Plus the event staff were simply heroic, setting up the tent while I was at the ceremony and having everything ready by the time our guests arrived. Everyone who braved traveling to Michigan in December amidst a growing pandemic had a great time. The bartender roaming around pushing mimosas certainly helped. As did the tent heaters, which TMF helped to get back online when one wasn't working. They called up the rental company and made sure A1 brought over a new one. Plus the TMF crew even helped to spread out some straw when the lawn got sloppy thanks to the unexpected ice storm. If you've read down this far, you might be asking yourself, "So why only four stars?" Well, if you recall, the critical components of this event were a chocolate fountain, bagels, and cream cheese. The chocolate fountain was everything the guest of honor had hoped for... and maybe more. But somehow, the caterer forgot to bring the cream cheese. And a bagel without cream cheese is like a hug without the squeeze. I know that's not actually how the line goes. Still... it's close. My personal belief is that a business is best defined by what happens when something goes wrong. In this case, their first offer was to simply not charge me for the food they didn't bring. That was not terribly satisfying. Ultimately, the resolution was a sum that was roughly equivalent to the mimosas which helped make our adult guests happy despite the omission. I appreciated the gesture, but would have preferred an outcome that did not feel as transactional. You know, like a tray of sweets, or an "I'm sorry" cake. I know I'm weird about this, but money feels kinda dirty. Although at some point it's best to just take the offer and move on. Which is exactly what I did. Would I work with The Moveable Feast again? Absolutely! Would I recommend them to anyone who asks? You bet. Would they work with me again? I certainly hope so. We had a tremendous amount of leftovers, which included a few pounds of smoked salmon and multiple pints of whitefish. We were even able to salvage some of the ambrosial nectar from the chocolate fountain. More importantly, thanks to TMF we were able to pull off a successful event in the face of some abysmal conditions. I mean... on top of everything a last minute ice storm? And despite being down a person, they did it all with a smile. Bravo!

Seems like a guy I'd enjoy having a beer with. Every time I go to a new place, if they have chicken salad on the menu, I have to try it. I'm always searching for the best chicken salad sandwich in town. Well, this is one of them--I know, it's a BBQ truck, who'd have thought, right? It's likely because the sandwich, being grilled, lets in the smoky flavor of the barbecue, not in an overwhelming way either. But what about that BARBECUE? Well, I went there with my parents, and my mom got a Cuban sandwich, which she rated as amazing. And my dad got a rack of ribs, so we shared that too. Oh wow, so very good. I'd tasted the hints of it on my chicken salad sandwich, and having the ribs themselves was even better. Sides are pretty standard, coleslaw or baked beans, small bags of retail chips, cans of soda, nothing special. But people come to these places for the BBQ, and this guy knows what he's doing with it. I will definitely be going back for more. I don't remember what the ribs cost, but the sandwiches were like $6, a dollar or two for the sides/drink. With no line when we went, it took about 5 minutes for the three of us. I should also note that you can buy in bulk, the meats, beans, coleslaw, chicken salad. Nice if you're having a party, or just want to take some home with you. Overall, highly recommended--nothing fancy, just great barbecue, great service, fast and inexpensive. The truck is located next to Tom's Party Store, in front of the Whole Foods on Grand River.

Smoked, braised, grilled, roasted, or fried bring it on- either when I eat out or if I'm in my own personal happy place in front of my smoker. Enter Zynda's, a southwestern restaurant that now occupies the former Red Cedar Grill (one of my all-time favorite restaurants in the area) in Williamston. The venue has been nicely updated and far more open than I recalled its predecessor. There are several dining options including a nice bar serving craft cocktails, upscale booths for a special night, and the Chimney Room which can seat up to 50 guests. Billed as a barbecue restaurant on some food sites, Zynda's menu is part Tex-Mex, part New American, with some French, Asian, Cajun, and Mediterranean elements. I usually subscribe to the theory that restaurants that do a lot of everything rarely do anything exceptionally well. Zynda's had a lot of high notes, to be sure, but a lack of focus was evident on others. What's Really Good I'm a big fan of the ribeye when slathered in the bearnaise sauce. It was aromatic and rich, but not over-powering. Not as thick as most restaurants' ribeye, the steak was still cooked perfectly and paired well with the grilled asparagus. The smoked chicken atop the Baked "mac n cheese" with penne pasta was rich in smokiness. The dish had plenty of melty cheesy goodness and benefitted from both the creamy béchamel base and the crunch from panko crumbles. Likewise, the au gratin potatoes were rich and scrumptious with a nice kick from chiles. Can I get some more of this please? The onion rings were another hit, thick-cut and crispy, the batter was less greasy than some other area favorites. On lighter notes, the Michigan Springtime Salad with carrots, dried cranberries, walnuts, capers, and feta cheese and a red wine vinaigrette, and the Caesar Salad with a citrusy punch were both quite good. What's Just Ok The Smoked Chicken Quesadilla was solid, but not outstanding. The blending of Tex-Mex and slow smoking is a tricky matter, and the meat didn't shine like it did in the pasta. Further attention to detail could have been paid to several items: the corn chowder was missing the potato and bacon pictured on the menu; the coleslaw lacked creaminess and salt; and while the Southwest Pulled Pork Eggrolls, jam packed with black beans, corn, and green chiles, were an interesting way to enjoy Zynda's smoked delicacies, the smoked pork seemed at odds with everything else in each bite rather than enhanced by them. The dipping sauce added yet another layer of taste but offered a comforting cool to the Southwestern brawl. Best Bite A southwestern smokehouse will need to bring it in the flavor department when it comes to brisket. Zynda's Corned Beef Brisket was on point. Tender and juicy, the brisket was packed with a depth of flavor from both the corning and smoking processes. The flavor was ramped up a notch when coupled with either the AZ's Sweet & Savory sauce (closer to Kansas City-style tomato base and brown sugar) or the ZBQ sauce (a zestier, vinegar-based sauce akin to a Memphis-style sauce). Served with shoestring fries and a delightful jalapeño cornbread, this smokey and hearty plate is what I expect when I think of BBQ,
