The windows are NOT impact windows, but hurricane rated up to 140 MPH with .21 SHGC, UFactor .3, and Air Leakage .3 or less, and Low E Argon gas (i.e., energy efficient). Purchaded 6 single hung, double pane, tempered glass of various sizes for less than $8K. It was not the cheapest or most expensive quote. Liked the lifetime guarantee (free glass repair, free screen repair, free re-caulking). The 1-YR guarantee is super specific and thus hard to get i.e., includes whether the othet company has lifetime written guarantee, lendth of business, BBB rating, NARI status, etc. Overall, we are satisfied with the purchase, process, and communication. We called around to find repair for our sliding glass doors -- one was a pane replacement, and the other was a track-fix. This is a winter-home for us, and we're retired, and we travel a lot. Thus, we didn't need the most expensive fix -- we had a budget, and we made sure to be clear with the contractor that we were looking for a basic fix. We spoke with several companies, and they all told us the same thing: Call All-Area Window Repair, because they're the best.So I did. When Robert and Dee of All Area Window Repair arrived, they were unlike most contractors: very modest and unassuming -- and they took the time to look over the problem seriously. They thought about my price considerations on this home of questionable value, and made suggestions on ways to save money on the repair. They were so helpful that, at that point, I had them look at 2 or 3 other window situations in my home which needed attention. Even though they were small jobs, Robert and Dee said they could handle them, and gave me reasonable estimates to do so.That first day, they took a small (25 percent) deposit, and ordered my pane. They also stayed to work on the track problem on one of my sliding-glass door sets. It turned out that a bad installation in 1984 (of which I was already aware) made a track-fix almost impossible, and likely to again recur . They didn't bat an eye, but got right on the problem, on the spot. They had some stock in a used door in the same size, which they had just been paid to remove and either re-use (environment, ya know!) or properly dispose of. Re-use worked out perfectly.It was a bigger job to change out the whole thing, but they didn't charge very much more. And it was a better outcome because the door they had to replace this one was much better. Just so you all know -- I have renovated four (4) houses, and done much of the work. I'm personally competent with wiring and plumbing and cabinetry and framing and drywall and some trim-out. And I know the window-replacement business -- I have a pretty good idea of costs and a pretty good idea of the work involved. In my younger days, I've replaced windows in my own homes. So I know. The prices I was given were good. Very good. There was no effort whatsoever on their part to try to take advantage of my problem of an essentially un-repairable track. There was no effort to UP-sell me. I had told them the economics of this house, and the proper budget. They respected that, and they came up with a smart solution.This is HARD-TO-FIND. I am very, very pleased with the honesty and integrity of All-Area Window Repair. Just now I had to remember to call them by their business name, but they seem more like "Dee and Bobby" to me, because they're just plain nice, decent people -- and very competent people at all aspects of windows, from repair to full replacement. As far as timeliness, they have been right where they have promised to be, right on time, every time. They got my order in quickly for the pane, and scheduled with me to replace it much faster than I anticipated.I told them that I was going to write them an online review, because I was so pleased, and I asked them if I should mention anything. They didn't ask me to give them a plug, or ask me what I was going to say. I think that's because they know that they're good at what they do, and fair-priced, and I think they have a good bit of business already: I think you're LUCKY to be able to get them. I'm writing it because I'm truly impressed with All-Area Window Repair. But here's the way I see it: If you need window repair, you've got about two choices: All Area Window Repair or somebody else unknown, and I would call All Area again in a heartbeat, and I probably will. The crew did a great job and the results are just what we hoped for. We are already noticing how much quieter and cooler the house is. However, they do not communicate well. You have to call to find out when your windows will be here and to get an installation date. Plus, they measured for our sliding doors 3x and the doors were still the wrong size. Doors are finally installed - look great, but there is a manufacturer defect. They order a replacement - it is the wrong size. We are still waiting for the replacement. In the mean time, I still have an open permit because they haven't inspected anything. The trim for my sliders hasn't been installed and is out on my lanai. We signed our contract August 31, 2023 and we are still waiting for the job to be completed. We have paid them, so they have 0 incentive to complete this job.

I did not get that great of service, especially from the management group, relative to call backs…read moreand appointment rescheduling. The main reason I went with JDM was due to the recommendation of my neighbors, who said they did a great job for them. (Their technician was David, and I was lucky enough to get him the second time.) Although the workers are professional, dedicated and friendly, the office and management involvement are less than stellar. First off, if you call the local number (407-794-7697), they respond with "Services". I had to ask if this was JDM. She stated it was. I explained I needed my sliding doors repaired, and she set a date (April 9) and informed me the installer would call 30 minutes before arrival. My appointment was between 10-noon. At 11:35, I called to determine the status. I was told they would contact the tech and have him call me. He called and said he was running late and would be there soon. He arrived around 12:30pm, gave me an estimate and said the work would take 2 hours. After examining the tracks, the price went up (twice) and amounted to over $2,000. Although my tech was a very nice man, I found out later he was new and just learning the job. HE DID NOT LEAVE MY HOUSE UNTIL 11:15pm, and the sliding screen portion was not properly working. (Why does management allow technicians to work that late?!) The next morning, I called back relative to the screen door, and I found he broke one of my outside fan blades while removing the doors. I got a lady who sounded like she was working from home as children were yelling and playing in the background. I explained my issue and she said the technician would be out next week to correct the situation. A week later I called back and asked about the status. My tech also worked in Miami, and I asked to speak to the Manager. Shirell (spelling?) called back and said a new technician (David) would be assigned and be there between 12-2pm. However, the address given to David was not my address and after several phone calls back and forth among the first technician, David, Shirell and myself, David agreed to come between 4-6pm. David did an excellent job in getting everything right this time around, but unfortunately, he broke a second fan blade as part of the process. He apologized and said he would order the blades off Amazon and come back to repair both outside fans once they arrive. Several missed appointments (one due to David returning for a 4-6pm time but was in Cape Canaveral at 5 pm and still had another job in Winter Park!), I rescheduled again. David did finally complete the fan blade repair, and I appreciated his attention to detail. However, where is management in all of this? Why was I always tracking down my technicians (no 30-minute advance call was ever received). For this final appointment, I was told by the phone representative that they left a voice message to set up a reschedule, but that was not true as I never received one. After all of this, management did not even have the good business sense to contact me and apologize for all the inconveniences and to ask if everything was now in proper working order. Although the technicians are good workers, the same cannot be said about management.

I wanted to have the glass inserts in my entrance doors replaced. I checked with the Home Depot…read moreinstaller and he said it could not be done because my doors were 93" and had been cut off. When I contacted Chris at Classic Glass Design, he knew the brand of doors that I had and said the company built their doors at 93" and there was no problem to replace the inserts. He even gave me replacement insert options that were not available at Home Depot. He drove 150 miles to do the job and was still cheaper than an estimate I received from HD, before they said the job could not be done. He arrived on time and and did a thorough clean up before he left.
