With winter coming, I'm reminded about how severely cold last year was and how our furnace died. It…read morewas on a Friday and we needed emergency service. We tried several times to contact the company that has in the past serviced our equipment. We did not get a response that day. nor any on Saturday. We tried other companies, but they were overwhelmed with responding to their customers and couldn't get to us that weekend. Thankfully, we have a wood burning stove in the family room that kept us warm during the days. However, I did very little for us during the nights. Unfortunately, we also had a very sick eleven y/o dog that needed special care. Therefore, we really couldn't stay in a local hotel. Finally, we got in touch with Gramorgan P & H, and they came that Saturday afternoon. I needed a new furnace and they had one in their warehouse that had a capacity that was somewhat greater than are old one that did not keep the temperature cool enough on really hot days, even though our outdoor unit was only several years old. Their tech people did a great job with testing and cleaning the outdoor unit this summer when we had so many days of 90-100 degree temperatures. Although they were busy with customer calls, their boss did free up a few people to come out at the end of their workday and install our new furnace. We have been very pleased with this system, which runs on a variable-speed fan that saves energy but cools the whole house sufficiently. They even installed new wiring needed for a new Wifi thermostat that I bought with an energy-efficient rebate. Now my wife can be anywhere in the house and change the thermostat's setpoint to turn the system off or back on by simply commanding vocally through Alexa. I know from our bills that we are saving energy. Before, our furnace would run continuously whenever we had really cold or hot days.

Did the work, $1800.00 plus tax. Toilet flushed for about an hour or two then stopped working again. Called back, was told I needed a septic system vent-$3200.00 more, called a septic company, they came to the house, checked they system and told me I DID NOT need a vent for the system. So I called another plumber, he snaked the toilet, found a mineral buildup, cleaned it out, just over $200.00 and it has worked fine since. Called Glamorgan back, was told the owner would contact me. That was weeks ago-no longer expecting a call. The work to replace the vent was probably done OK, kind of pricey, the follow up was not OK. I also had asked for a couple quotes on other things while they were at my home. Glamorgan was just about twice the price of others I later checked with. The plumbers were pleasant, did leave a huge mess, and arrived on time. The work was expensive, did not solve the problem, and the owner never tried to contact me. I suspect they really do not like to be told they made a mistake plus they charge more than others in the area. Bottom line is-I will not use them again or recommend them to others. Buyer beware, try and get a second estimate or talk to others that have used them. My experience was not good and I did not like being talked down to when I pointed out they did not fix my problem.

Still couldn't admit their mistake when they realized they used the wrong house plans for the design, and when 4 other companies verified the unit was undersized for our house. Installed a new AC last month (from a different company) and have had zero issues, it's keeping us nice and cool. $12,000 mistake for us and would never recommend them to anyone as they do not back their product or installation. *edit to respond to Albany Mechanical: In regard to the claim about new construction and system design, Albany Mechanical used the wrong set of plans when designing our HVAC system and they are 100% aware of this. The builder initially provided preliminary drawings to obtain a general estimate. However, the final design of our home changed significantly, including both the layout and the addition of more square footage. The updated plans were sent to Albany Mechanical--and we have documentation confirming this. Despite that, the system was ultimately built using the original, outdated drawings, which resulted in an improperly designed and ineffective system. It is also incorrect to state that we only contacted them in 2024, several years after construction. As part of the installation, we had a one-year service contract, during which Albany Mechanical was called out on three separate occasions the first summer due to ongoing issues with the system's performance. Our concerns were raised from the very beginning. While it is true that we reached out again in 2024, those visits were part of continued attempts to address a long-standing problem. During that time, Albany Mechanical brought in a third-party company to evaluate airflow and size of the unit. It was during this process that we discovered they had the wrong plans and provided the third party with the same incorrect plans. When this discrepancy was identified, Albany Mechanical refused to have the analysis redone using the correct plans. Regarding the dehumidification system, this was installed after the fact in an effort to improve performance, as during the first year of use of the system Albany Mechanical adamantly stated there was nothing wrong with it despite our home being 82 degrees when the thermostat was at 73 degrees. The claim that the system introduced outside air during peak summer conditions is completely false. The unit is equipped with an external temperature sensor that automatically closes the outside air intake when temperatures are too high or too low. This statement reflects a misunderstanding of the system's functionality and complete lack of knowledge by Albany Mechanical. While it is true that a clogged filter was identified during one of their service visits, the HVAC system was not functioning properly both before the dehumidifier was installed and after the dehumidifier's filter was cleaned. Therefore, this issue had no bearing on the underlying problem and is just an attempt to make excuses. Finally, the assertion that Albany Mechanical stood behind their work is not supported by the facts. They were made aware that incorrect plans had been used. Multiple independent companies--four in total--confirmed that the system was undersized for the home and despite both of these assertations they refused to take responsibility. Most importantly, after replacing the system with one that was properly sized, we have experienced no issues. The evidence is clear. Albany Mechanical absolutely does not stand behind their work, and based on our experience, we would never recommend this company.

The new furnace they installed 7 or 8 years ago, works perfectly and we loved their integrity, so much, we have had them for the Air Conditioning, too! In a past life (50 years ago), I worked with Air Conditioning and know that we get what we pay for... the gas furnace we purchased from Holbrook was their top line and we could not be more pleased! Thank you, Holbrook, you're the best!

They spliced the areas with cut pieces but did not work. I scheduled a tune up with Holbrook thru a Home Depot tune up offer and told them the previous attempt by Fancher to fix the problem didn't work. . . I am 82 years old I was a design contractor and built this house. Central AC had two bedrooms with no air due to collapsed baffles . I wanted two lengths of new baffles distributed from the transfer center in the attic to the two bedrooms. Hollbrook came for a inspection, evaluated the situation and said I would need x amount of length of baffle and will schedule app't. I did not think that was enough length of baffle the mechanic quoted for replacing the lengths of baffle I figured needed so I called to ask Holbrook to ask the repair person if she had ordered enough baffle to cover the length of reaching 2 bedrooms, later told me yes she is sure. On June 11 After 1 1/2 hr of work charged me $348.00 said she spliced in 2 new runs to the bedrooms, I don't recall her checking the bedrooms for air flow. That evening I discovered there was no difference in air flow but the same as before. I called Holbrook and told them and sent another repair man, who agreed there was no sufficient air flow so he tried to make a temporary adjustment to the collapsed pieced extension baffles. He checked and found they were not producing any more air than before, Holbrook said they would order an additional amount of baffle mat'l based on the latest repair man's estimate of additional baffle needed to "refix" the ongoing problem. @ 190.00 per hr plus materials. This has been over 2 months of the hottest humid summer nights without A/C and I have had Cardiac surgery and I needed to have my A/C working. My street was being repaved so we had to reschedule to a later date. They scheduled the job and after hours of redoing most of the previous work the repairman added baffle lengths to the additional collapsed areas by splicing them to open up the airways. This attempt was supposed to have fixed the problem. When it was all done before issuing a bill I asked the boss to subtract the charge of the the previous work that failed to fix the problem and charge me the amount based on the time and materials of this re-do. After arguing awhile the boss agreed to take a small percentage off the charge of the first attempt to fix the problem........Really? ......... The remainder of the failed attempt cost plus the new charges totaled over $1,000 .......... .....Now here is the result .........It doesn't work any better, still not much air to the bedrooms. I asked that the amount to be charged on the scheduled new fix on 8/14 2025 will be minus the $348 I paid for the 1/1/2 hr work performed which did not work and has to be done over and paid only after checked and working properly...or a full refund of $348 which is more than fair considering I had to sleep in the hot stuffy bedrooms with cardiac vascular health issues for over 2 months. Honest and humble apology would also be in order since I will not pursue in any manner legally or by media to discredit Holbrook's reputation, however I will post a factual review of my experience with Holbrook. With sincere respect, however they show no consideration for my knowledge of the method I wanted it to be done, instead ended up in this expensive lengthy "botch" job. Conclusion: I feel although the work was earnestly done, 1st, it wasn't performed in the way I wanted it therefore by only splicing the collapsed portions were not successful as done before as I explained to them. 2nd: The temporary fix didn't even tie me over, and 3rd: The final extensive day of re doing and adding new lengths of baffle didn't produce much more results. That is much to pay for poor results. The repairman said he understood but the manager bypassed my intelligence by supporting the valid protocol of the method of all they did which was not the way to properly fix the problem since I was the contract builder and know exactly how the AC lines were distributed and the proper fix would be to replace the baffle lengths from the central distribution center separately to the two bedrooms, also I wanted the water condensation buildup evaluated for further replacement to prevent further leaks which wasn't considered. In conclusion I was definitely treated as I was an old man to be intimidated by a superior, all knowing intelligence to be taken for granted and not be considered for any worth except for determined and demand for payment. I was charged an incredible amount of money for an over excessive amount of work which was basically the same method the job by Fancher performed and didn't work instead of the way I suggested to repair by replacing two new baffle lines in the first place which would have done the job efficiently and successfully for less.
