At first I was a bit puzzled by the unconventional name and small differences on the rules but after playing the game it didn't matter much. I'm a big fan on the computer game where the idea is based on (basically you're locked in a room for an hour and need to solve clues to escape) and was amazed by the quality of the set's decor and the difficulty of the puzzles. It is definitely worth the experience. You have just over an hour to 'exit' the room but don't be sad if you don't, the crew will happily let you out. They're friendly that way and will go over the puzzles giving you hints along the course of the game. Recommend it for a pre night out with a small group of friends (up to four, but three would prob be best), and it is a bit out of town or the busy areas of Kalio, so bring your map to find it ;) nevertheless there is a tram connection just nearby. I ordered a Bacon Cheese Burger & received a perfectly medium cooked patty with a pile of tasty fries. The burger was seasoned well & cooked to perfection, I was quite pleased with the flavor & constitution of the entire thing. The textures of the soft bun with the crispy bacon & crunchy produce worked nicely with the grilled beef patty. The fries were also something to write home about. They were cooked to a beautiful golden crisp & salted generously. I washed the feast down with a couple mugs of a local tap beer called Karhu, it was a flavorful amber. Sports Academy only offers 5 beers on tap. But, a plethora of bottled beer is available. They also offer a decent selection of spirits for harder drinks. The venue could use a few more TV's considering it is a sports bar. The interior & bathrooms could use some updating. The bathroom was dingy & dirty. Head to the bar to place your order & be sure to grab utensils & condiments before returning to your table. The entire meal & drinks were a good value which was quite a surprise. I had read Finland was going to be the most expensive stop on my trip to Scandinavia & Russia. I would dine here again.

There are plenty of big screen TV's to watch sports and there are plenty of beers on tap. This is a good place to stop by if you need a quick break from walking around downtown Helsinki. I recommend bringing your passport as that is the most common form of ID that is accepted for entrance. I would come back for some suds. Plus when it's cold in Helsinki you want to get inside quick, so stop on by!

Take some water and sandwiches with. Choose some side roads to roam to get a more authentic experience. Find the beautiful side paths by the ocean. Pick a great spot to sit and enjoy the nature and atmosphere.

I visited Allas Sea Pool while on vacation in Finland, and it was fantastic! I would definitely…read morerecommend the experience. Entry to the pool is €12, which I found to be very reasonable. The price gets you an electronic wristband, allowing you entry into all areas (pools and saunas) as well as locker access for a 10 hour period. Re-entry is also allowed, which was extremely useful for me - I was staying a little bit outside of the city, and so I brought a day pack, stashed it in a locker and went to explore the city before returning later in the afternoon to swim. There are three pools which overlook the marina area, so it feels like you're swimming right by the ocean. They are different temperatures, and I believe one is a seawater pool. The pool deck is large and there are a number of deck chairs available for use, however it's also possible to just relax on a towel. Allas additionally has three saunas - male, female and mixed. They are not huge and can fit maybe 15-20 people each, so bear in mind at busy times it could get crowded. A swimming costume is required for the mixed sauna, however in the single sex saunas it is traditional to go in the nude. I believe all saunas are set at the same temperature, therefore there isn't much difference between any of them besides the people. There is also a restaurant and bar onsite, and on the day that I was there, a music festival was running as well, however this was an additional cost not previously included in the entry price. Overall, I'd say Allas is a great place to visit, whether or not you want to swim. Entry is cheap enough that you could go over for a quick dip and also experience Finland's sauna culture, and still get your money's worth. The staff that I encountered were very friendly, and I would definitely return if I ever find myself in Helsinki again!
