Village Veterinary Clinic - Dozed his first night home after emergency surgery, already back to his normal, happy self

Today was a sad day. My 16 1/2 year old cat, Benny, had cancer and had to be put down. The only…read moresaving grace was the absolutely wonderful and compassionate tech and doctors at Hamburg Village Vet. There was no rush, no pushing in a certain direction....just presented with the facts and then left it up to me to decide. Even afterward, no attempt to get out right away...given the opportunity to take as much as needed. The staff was caring, and, despite being down from losing Benny, the Office of Hamburg Village Vet made me comfortable and relaxed. A HUGE two thumbs up...thank you! Mark Jones

I am devastated to be writing this. I took my 2-year-old cat to Hamburg Vet for an emergency visit…read moreafter he stopped eating for days and developed a strange, unsteady walk. I was terrified for him and needed real answers. Unfortunately, in my experience, he didn't get the thorough care an emergency visit should include. They only felt his stomach for lumps and sent us home with liquid antibiotics and L-Lysine. They did not listen to his lungs, did not run bloodwork, and didn't recommend any additional diagnostics. I repeatedly expressed how worried I was, but I was told it was "just a cold." This gave us hope, so we pushed through stressful at-home treatments--pulling him out from hiding spots to give meds, force-feeding him for days, watching him get skinnier, and hoping each dose would make a difference. Instead, he continued to decline. When things got worse, I called back, desperate for guidance, and was told a vet wouldn't be available to speak with me until the next day. At that point, after other past negative experiences with this clinic, we decided to seek help elsewhere. We made another emergency appointment, this time with Eden Vet. We waited two hours to be seen, holding onto hope--but during that time, he passed away in my arms. The vet there told us he had liver disease, and in their opinion, the care he received at Hamburg Vet did not reflect the severity of his condition. I cannot express how heartbreaking it is to think that his last days were filled with unnecessary stress--for him and for us--because we were reassured he only had a cold. I feel that Hamburg Vet failed him when he needed them most, and in my experience, it caused avoidable suffering. I will never return to this clinic. I was desperate and needed help for my best friend, and I wish his final days had been handled with more urgency and compassion

I called because they had appointment based visits compared to first come first serve. Before I…read morewent for my first visit I explained I was going out of town asked if they could neuter and board my dog until I got back. They agreed and I made the appointment. I get there went through the visit, they sold me this lifetime shot service then changed my appointment 4 times in a week. A female employee called a few days before the original appointment date to confirm the original appointment. I explained that they cancelled and moved it to another day. The girl told me I must have made a mistake because the doctor won't be in on that day. She hassled me for a few more minutes and when I started getting aggravated told me not to bother coming back because I wasn't a patient there anymore.

They took $50 from my dad who is a cancer patient to hold an appointment that was not for 4 day from then(was the only appointment they would give him) he ended up taking the dog to an emergency vet that evening because the dog would have been dead by 4days away. They would not refund the appointment hold money. I also used to take my dogs there but after multiple times of them over charging me and charging me for things I did not want done to my dog I had had enough. They also told me that there were things that needed to be done to my dog that after a 2nd opinion I found out that she did not need. Stay away!!! These people are crooked!!!!!!
