After placing my online order, I walk in on a Sunday for the pickup. The place had a long line of people and sadly, only one lone person working the kitchen, the counter, and register. My order wasn't easy as it had a mix of oven-prepared goods, donuts, and coffee (for the family). Working in the food industry back in the 80s, I can empathize with the stress of servicing customers when you're severely understaffed. This took it to a whole new level. This review is really more for Brian than the store as he did all of the above with a smile. He stayed upbeat, worked through the line/mobile orders, and really seemed to keep his cool. I felt so sorry for him, being the only one in the store. Nevertheless, great job on hiring this person. this is the closest dunkin to my house and its a great location. bringing east coast to the west coast! i use the app for convenience. order my drink and donut and then drive in and pick it up. its always there waiting for me with no contact necessary. the donuts are more traditional and cakey than others like krispy kreme but when im in the mood, i'll come for the blueberry! coffee is good with all the syrups, i like sweet things and not just straight black. the matcha latte is super strong. like super super strong. i made two drinks out of it because i poured so much water and milk into it. always a bogo if you think about it. split in two, it still had a lot of matcha flavor. dunkin is a good substitute to krispy kreme when you arent feeling like a super sweet donut. read more

Dunks delivered for me, but keep in mind that your mileage may vary. I've had some short stays on the East Coast and developed a fondness for Dunks. I liked their coffee, slight roasted flavor, and how they already sweeten it and add milk. Plus I really liked how you can add a "turbo shot" which is just adding a shot of espresso. I also liked their small breakfast sandwiches. This dunks in San Carlos had all of that, so I was happy. The egg and cheese english muffin ($3.19) was filling and the bread was soft. The jelly donut and Boston cream donut ($1.19 each), were both satisfying. Just because they may not have your favorite style of donut, you can't really hold that against them. The location is clean and spacious and they have USB outlets in some areas, which is a nice touch. I'm happy to run on Dunks. read more

Wow finally a DD closer to San Mateo! And just like that it's a DD in California. I'm not really sure what it is about Dunkin donuts in California but the donuts just aren't that good. They're definitely not fresh I think they are pre-frozen. Correct me if I'm going it's just not like the ones on the east coast. The actual location is nice and roomy. The staff here is also good. I just can't get over the donuts quality. Besides the donuts go ahead and give the coffee a try it's pretty good just stay away from all the other flavors it can be a bit too much. read more

Knowing that a Dunkin Donuts was coming to San Carlos we couldn't have been more excited. Watching the sign go up, then the "Now Hiring" sign, eeeeeeee! Finally opening day arrived, and yes I went after work. The place is huge! Located next to my tire place and across from Taco Bell, a deadly combination for me. I've yet to try the drinks. I enjoy a donut from time to time, and I'm happy that they are here. If you need a place to do work on a computer, there are areas with USB and electric ports. November 23 2022 Wednesday afternoon around 1pm tried to put a order in for around 130 dollars. Due to your local customer service being disrespectful and racist the order did not take place. Not sure how much the management cares but cursing at customers while others are in store it's simply bad business. Management you need to look at the cameras you have posted in the store and take appropriate action and start cleaning your act. As for rating I would give you a -5 stars for unbelievable garbage customer service.. I will notify the DD headquarters in Mass to make sure appropriate knowledge to the local owner will be contacted. read more

I would give this zero stars if possible. The people there are incompetent and dishonest. On April 14 early in the morning, my daughter ordered $200 worth of doughnuts for a party and paid for them online. Her aunt went to pick them up at 11:30 a.m. The aunt was told that because they had not been picked up within 2 hours of the order, the doughnuts were sold to other people, even though they were PAID FOR. They have refused to issue a refund and do not answer their phone. The corporate office says it is "trying" but the San Carlos shop is an individual franchise. My daughter was never informed of the two-hour rule, which in itself is ridiculous for something that's paid for when the shop is open. I never thought we'd be going to court over dollars for doughnuts, but Dunkin' is giving us little choice. read more

Yaaaay! It's here!! Boatloads of donut options of course, I was so excited I couldn't sit still in line but I was 10th-ish and it went quick. A dozen was $12.99 (non-specialty) and 50 donut bites were same price - on opening day came in glazed, pumpkin (!!!!), and chocolate. WHERE were the maple donuts though?! Perhaps I was on a donut high and my eyes were a bit glazed over but my eye did not spy maple donuts. I am biased because I have fond childhood memories of Dunkin in NY when I'd visit family, but I really did enjoy my strawberry-frosted donut and the unknown amount of pumpkin bites I consumed. I walked out. The customer service was awful; no greeting, just walked up and starred, then took for me to ask about what kind of tea they had twice for her to respond in a smart ass tone. I was really excited to try tea at Dunkin' since I googled tea near me and I had never had tea from Dunkin. Maybe it was her heavy black makeup and lack of customer service skills. I watched the employee wearing gloves handle donuts AND cash & coins, and they did not change gloves at all, gross. At the bottom of my cup was about two inches of chai and by that point I had no more liquid to mix in the flavor. Same thing happened with the two others my mom and sister got. The Donuts are great -- when they have any. Incredible the show up time and time again only to find zero inventory of full size donuts (munchkins are overpriced and therefore some are still available). Literally the worst dunkin I've ever been too. The coffee = undrinkable. After repeating my order multiple times, they still didn't get it right. Gave the wrong donuts and the wrong bagels. 4 people on shift, only 1 actually doing anything and the other 3 just staring at their phones behind the counter. If you love dunkin, don't go to this one because it'll ruin things for you. If you have never been to dunkin, go to a different because you'll never go to another after this experience. read more

The main reason I'm giving one star is that they are DECEPTIVE. I ordered two Beyond sandwiches on the app and paid $4.79 for each. When I got to the restaurant, the menu price for the same sandwich was $3.99. Why did I get charged more on the app? Shouldn't prices be the same whether you order in-store or on the app? On top of that, they couldn't serve us the Beyond sandwiches because their English muffins were all frozen. I don't understand why they couldn't anticipate demand and thaw the muffins beforehand. So today is my first visit to Dunkin Doughnuts ever! I love the way the store looks, it's adorable. The two ladies who assisted me are amazing. They even warmed up my apple fritter for me. The coffee is piping hot and they added the cream and sugar for me to perfection. The apple fritter was ok. I prefer more apples to my fritter, but it was warm, soft and served with a smile. Then I moseyed on over to a window seat and immediately discovered the phone charging station. I really wish I could post emojis right now , but I was pleasantly surprised. I haven't tried the other donuts, but the amazing customer service is everything. No business is perfect, but the customer service is a critical component to success.
