On a couple of occasions, I've even brought in tuna I caught myself, and the chef created a special presentation that truly impressed our friends. When we know they'll be busy, we call ahead, and they always have a table ready for us--often with a little extra charm added. The owner is one of the hardest-working people I know and pays close attention to every detail. When the restaurant is busy it can get a bit noisy for my older ears, but that's understandable given how popular it is. Some of our favorites include the Thai soups, duck dishes, Laos beef jerky, fried soft-shell crab, various Thai dishes, chicken wing appetizers, and of course the sushi. Don't hesitate to ask the sushi chef for a custom plate--you won't be disappointed.

In the past, everything we've tried has been consistently good, and there are so many options on the menu to choose from. We decided to dine in for my mother's birthday, and while the service in terms of getting our food out was quick, the food itself was a huge miss this time. Honestly, everything we ordered fell short, which was surprising given our previous experiences. What made it more disappointing was the birthday moment. We ordered dessert and asked if they could sing happy birthday. They brought out the dessert but didn't acknowledge the birthday at all. Then, less than five minutes later, they celebrated another table by singing, which made the situation feel even worse. Overall, we left feeling really let down. Hoping this was just an off night, but it definitely didn't match what we're used to from this place.

It is pristine and clean inside. Very comfortable seating. Water is served to the table in an old whisky bottle which is a neat touch. They start you off with a bowl of chicharron. We started off with the queso frito, soft delicious cubes of cheese. What makes it is the honey drizzle on top. delightful.. We also had the salmon lunch special and the fried fish sandwich. The salmon was so tasty and so was the asparagus! The size of the fish is a little small, but hey, it's a lunch portion. I loved the balsamic drizzle. The fish sandwich was a great size and was tasty. It comes with the croquette of the day. today's was spinanch and cheese. I would like to return on a night where they have the live music to try their cocktails, or maybe one of their salads because they look good!

I asked the cashier for the key and she said "it's only for paying customers - are you buying something?" Ummm.... $30 worth of premium! Well, she meant buying something IN THE STORE!?! I ended up buying an overpriced bottle of water for $3. Crazy! Speedway needs to examine this policy.

Of course, since they required you to abandon your personal property, if your property gets stolen, they are not responsible, you are. The best part is that walking in the door, you are accused of being there to steal, which is why they require you to leave your book bag at the door. The same is not the case of women with purses. Purses are not left at the door or even called out. This is disparity of treatment. Obviously, they have a theft problem, so thief solution is to require you to sacrifice your property for theirs. It is not my fault that Speedway has decided to not properly staff the store that is designed to have a minimum of two employees at all times. Accusing customers of stealing upon entering the store is defamation of character. Do your self a favor, go shop somewhere else, where they are not going to call you a thief, walking in the door.
