Stopped in for breakfast. The cashier (a Mississippi native!) was super cool. I'll be back on my next trip to Pittsburgh.

The bacon is thick and packed with flavor, the egg is cooked to perfection, the spices hit just right, and the bun is straight-up heavenly. It's perfectly balanced, hits every single time, and somehow keeps getting better. I finally tried one of their donuts after forgetting to grab it last time and wow. Way better than I expected. Soft, flavorful, and an delicious. This place is tied for best breakfast sandwich in the city, but honestly, it's so different from anything else that it earns its own category. It really does deserve all the praise it gets. The setup is casual, just a walk-up window with a few outdoor tables, and yeah, you might wait in line but the whole vibe is great, and everyone working there is super friendly and clearly cares about the food they're putting out. Can't recommend it enough.

I've tried a lot of their sandwich offerings but the Becky (bacon, egg, cheese) is truly the best in the city. With their homemade poppyseed bread, perfectly griddled onions, thick cut bacon, and spicy ketchup, it's the perfect blend of flavors perfect for any morning. You can also never go wrong with a donut to save for later. There's a reason this place racks up a line of people even on gloomy weekday mornings. You just have to try it for yourself.

Not too friendly, yet also not rude, I think maybe just a bit shy. I went here in particular because I saw they had gluten free everything bagels & vegan cream cheese, so I was sooo excited to order it, but unfortunately they did not have any gluten free bagels at that time. I looked around for another GF & DF option, and landed on a couple of hard boiled eggs. Can't go wrong with a hard boiled egg, hehehe! I ordered a cold brew with the sugar free hazelnut & asked for extra syrup, which I soon determined was not necessary. That's a great thing though! It was an amazing sugar free syrup & if you get the SF hazelnut I'd suggest just keeping the amount as is. Their cold brew itself was really yummy too (well from what I could tell because I accidentally asked for too much syrup, hahaha). It is so stinkin' cute inside this shop and I wish I had more time to look around a bit. I definitely plan to go back, and fingers crossed I can try the GF everything bagel next time! I'd love to look around more inside & actually dine in, because it felt wicked cozy! I also love that they offer glassware options for those who dine-in, plus they use compostable items for take-out. Heck yeah! I really recommend checking this place out :)

The cafe is nestled in the upper Lawrenceville... where parking is simple and life is slower lol From first glance, this establishment is ready to make you feel right at home. With cute signage everywhere instructing you on there sustainability practices and fun flavors of the month, you go from first time to feeling like a regular instantly. The lattes... were.... DELIGHTFUL. We got a peppermint latte and a vanilla oat milk latte. The flavors were rich but not cloyingly overpowering. We also ordered a breakfast hand pie (why does life not use the term hand pie more often, you just feel so fun ordering one) and an Egg & Cheese Bagel. Both freshly put together and toasted to perfection. It is great when a cafe has actually delicious and intentional food. The staff was more than ready to give their suggestions and help. They kindly announce when your order is ready and wait with a smile to hand it off to you! There were plenty of cute places to sit and the decor was just so.. them. They have a restroom available and well marked as well. We may have a passport full of coffee places to try, but Caffe d'Amore might just have to be a regular spot during the journey anyway!!

Starting in 2008, PLLD has taken Pittsburgh by storm with franchises popping up all over the area but the true start is right here in the Strip District... well two doors down, but who would fault them for moving into the corner spot when it became available. As humble of beginnings, the owner bought a donut machine from a friend's garage that didn't seem to work quite right. Finally working, all that could seem to be produced were this little donuts. Fast forward six months to the owner realizing he installed one component backwards... but the craze of little donuts had already been born! The shop is funkadelic! With the constant parade of fresh mini donuts being fried and topped right in front of you - you can be assured that yours will be hot and fresh. The toppings are always changing and they have display donuts right in front of you so you can eye up which you want to devour! Plus with mini donuts, you can grab quite a variety and tell yourself that 4 or 5 of these would equal the calories of a normal donut... right?! The employees greet you with a fresh cinnamon sugar donut to sample - a tradition that started last June on National Donut Day and they just never seemed to stop! For our Strip District Food Tour, we each got a little donut. We chose the Elvis, Dirt, Chocolate Chip Pancake, and Tres Leches. What a glorious little bite! Perfect combos of sweet and salty - that are almost as pretty to look at as they are to devour!
