I can handle if sometimes mistakes happen or orders are made wrong. I've worked in food for many years and I understand we all are human and mess up from time to time. But NEVER had I experienced sucking up a bug through my straw and into my mouth! that was absolutely horrific, I was beyond disgusted. Bugs in food - is one thing I absolutely cannot understand why they allow to happen other than just pure negligence to ensure they are serving quality products.

This was their limited edition donut. It was thrown in the bag with no toppings or wax paper and was hard to boot!

Service was terrible. Borderline raised their voice at me. Had an attitude. Always gets the order wrong in one way or another.

Avoid the breakfast sandwiches. They are premade and nuked when ordered. They are chewy and gross!!

The tea had stevia in it (wtf??) which I personally think is the most disgusting and disappointing sweetener out there. Super weird for it to be a part of the tea bag, IMO. Ambiance? I would LOVE to spend more time there. I love local artists and the vibe there is really great. Soothing, relaxing, chill... but... I go to a coffee shop for the coffee and/or tea and if that's not great and if the barista is annoyed... I'm not going to stick around for the ambiance. (Also, with a name like Avionics, I was expecting a little more decor along that line. So if you're interested in aviation and airplanes, don't come here thinking you've found a fellow aficionado.)

Had great indoor decor -- as some previous reviewers said, it had a interesting combination of modernism and nature. However, food was not as good as environment. The menu was very limited (together with my friend we already covered the whole menu lol). I saw on Yelp that they offered the Lox Plate and Avocado Stack, which looked pretty amazing. Unfortunately they do not offer these any more. The lox bagel was super small, so were the egg sandwich and granola. The sandwiches tasted OK, but the granola was way too sweet for me. Luckily the price was reasonable. Not very likely to come here again as it offers too few things now. They do offer more drinks than food. So in general due to its decor and the fact that not many people go there, it would not be a bad choice to study or work here anyway.

The main reason is the general location. I am not a resident of Danville, so I am not in Northern Danville ever. Instead, I travel along Highway 74 quite a bit so not only is this location a bit out of the way, there is a bigger and more accessible location right off said highway. Another difference is the general size of this Mad Goat location. Compared to the one on South Gilbert St, this one is part of a strip mall and is a much smaller, intimate space. It serves the purpose of being a nice place to pull out your laptop to do work, but I would much rather get the ambiance and vibe of the other location in Danville. Additionally, I feel the South Gilbert location is more upkept and cleaner than this location. If you are passing through, I would suggest visiting the other location, as it is definitely more glamorous and accessible. Moving away from the physical traits of this coffee shop, everything that they serve here is the same as the other locations. Their drinks still rock and I would recommend the usual London Fog, Matcha drinks, smoothies, etc. I've even ordered an acai bowl here and it was very refreshing. You won't go wrong with this location, I just think the other one on the South side of town has this one beat!

Thai Tea Caramel Canelé {5/5}: The best canelé I've ever had (okay, I admit, I've only had maybe 6 in my life). Great caramel and good Thai tea flavor. Just a personal preference thing, but the flavor combination of peach, oolong, and matcha was not my favorite. I can see how someone who likes this flavor profile would find this drink refreshing!

Even the menu had original coffee recipes dedicated to each of the Harry Potter houses. I'm not sure if this coffee shop was originally Harry Potter-themed or if it was only for a limited time, but the first thing I noticed when we walked in was how cute and cool all of the decor was. Service-wise, the baristas were personable and so fun. I wouldn't shut up about how cool the shop was, and they appreciated it and asked where we were from and what made us stop in their small town. We talked for a while, and I ended up ordering The Chocolate Frog under the Ravenclaw house. I got my drink fast and the barista told me to crack my cup when I was ready to drink it because of the crackling chocolate on the cup. When I was served my drink, they didn't put the lid on it because customers do it themselves in case they want to put anything extra inside. However, my husband and I both tried to put a lid on the drink and couldn't get it, so we had to ask one of the baristas to do it. She explained a trick she uses to easily get them on, and we were on our way. Seriously, such nice people working here! The latte was absolutely to die for. It was smooth, flavorful, and absolutely amazing, so it makes me very sad that I won't be able to have it again for a long time, if ever again. They need to open this place by me in Chicago or the suburbs!
