(Steven Wright) If you're hunting for quality sportsmen gear, this is the best spot locally to tackle your tackle list. That's no fish tale! THE LURE: The store is close to Bay Point Park boat launch, making it a convenient stop for fishing gear or licenses before you head out on the Mississippi River. THE LINE: Four Seasons carries solid inventory on fishing, archery, and hunting equipment. For the lady aiming for fishing boat chic, there's a pink sweatshirt with your name on it! There's even a pink tackle box for the matchy matchy look, but women's sunglasses would be a great add so one doesn't have to buy a manly pair in a pinch. THE CAST: Employees won't ambush you with pressure sales tactics or stalk you like prey, but they are enthusiastic to help if you look confused when your father sends you in for products you can't find. They are also fantastic with questions about the river, nearby lakes, and where fish are biting. I give this store 4.3 jigs for their excellent customer service and inventory! Now go catch yourself a lunker!

I even showed up a couple of minutes after they closed without knowing and they had no problem helping me out even though they most definitely didn't have to do that. My chainsaw was repaired by Runnings, Fall of 2012…read more Dropped off a Stihl chainsaw with the request that they take a look at it and see what it would cost to make it operational again. It had not been run in a few years and I'm elbows deep into a bike project. They said they'd call with an estimate. Great. Call they did ... to tell me that the saw was done and I could come and get it. Ahhhhh? What about calling with an estimate, and what is the bill? "About $100" I was told. Okay. I dropped by to pick up my saw and pay the bill. After waiting a seeming eternity it becomes clear that they can't find my saw. So they bring me back in the shop area to ID it. I finally find it and ...then they can't find the bill. I wait another 20 minutes and then just leave. Without my saw. I had been in the store for 40 minutes at this point. (A point: their computer system seems like a detriment to actually getting people in and out of the store quickly. I looked over the guy's shoulder and viewed the screens and masses of entry boxes. We put a man on the MOON with little more than a clock radio, okay?) I called the manager and explained to him what had happened. He was aware of my situation and said they'd been experiencing a lot of turnover in the repair shop and this was why it is just coming out of a sea of disarray. I also mentioned the estimate on repair suddenly becoming a bill. He said that he'd adjust the bill for me and that I'd be happy. I return to the store. The bill is presented. There is no adjustment. I mention this to the clerk helping me. He takes me back to the shop to find the original bill (I think). I am wondering at this point if they are going to just kill me and get this over with. He finds the bill, and stares at it, clearly ruminating over what to do. He wants to help. He is anguished by this situation. I can't do simple arithmetic either, so I say, "How about $65?" He is awash with relief. "Okay, $65." We bring it to the checkout and he hangs for a few minutes to try and get the check out clerk to do this quickly. He leaves. Then more chaos ensues as the checkout girl can't get the register to work correctly because of the numbers on the bill. "These SKUs won't automatically enter the price," she says to me. I own some SK wrenches but am actually no longer dumb enough to blurt stuff out like this now that I am old. I just hang, decide to buy some candy. Like 10 minutes later I am paying and leaving. I go to Runnings at least once a week to get something, I prefer it over Menards and Ace. They are trying and they'll get it. Saw runs great.

But thanks to…read moreElliott, I left with a great pair of boots and a surprisingly enjoyable shopping experience. Elliott was incredibly helpful and informative. He took the time to sit down with me and help me try on a pair of shoes, something I honestly haven't experienced since I was a kid. That kind of service really stood out to me and made the whole visit feel more personal and thoughtful. He helped me find the right fit--while I usually wear a size 12, we landed on an 11 1/2, and it felt perfect. He also explained what to expect from the boots over time and how to take care of them properly. It wasn't just a sales pitch; it was honest guidance. What I appreciated most? Zero pressure to buy. In fact, Elliott even mentioned the discount store downstairs, which says a lot about the store's integrity. Personally, I'm much more likely to make a purchase when I'm given space after a helpful introduction--and that's exactly what happened here. I ended up making a purchase I felt great about, and I can't wait to wear these boots this fall. Highly recommend stopping in--even if you're just browsing.

WARNING Buyer Beware Vasque: Trust on the Trail is their motto.....NOT!…read moreI recently purchased a pair of Vasque Women's Skadia Ultradry Snow Boot I do a lot of hiking and urban walking. These are warm, dry and comfortable for the three days I have worn, but..... I had a very serious malfunction occur due to lacing system on boots. While walking, the lacing system and eyelet/grommet failed causing me to fall head first flat down on concrete sidewalk. I ended up with a huge knot above my right eye and serious swelling and bruising to my right eye along with scrapes and bruises on other areas. I was lucky something more serious did not happen, especially when hiking! Scary to say the least. Days after, I am still experiencing pain and bruising is still worsening around eye. Lucky to not have lost eyesight in right eye! I did go to doctors. Contacted the company RED WING Shoe Boot company who makes these boots, explaining to them what happened along with photos. Received an unsatisfactory answer...all they said was to return to original seller. Seller has nothing to do with faulty lacing system. Seriously!? Buyer Beware
