They did not make any attempt to clear the walkway up to the door, not even salt. The sidewalk was treacherous from snow that had fallen days before. It was not new snow. Plus it was an afternoon appointment so they had plenty of time to have it cleared off. The male receptionist just said, "That's up to the city". Fortunately, the doctor did come out several minutes later and instructed one of the staff members to shovel and put down some salt so it wasn't as treacherous getting back to the car. read more

I had an appointment on Tuesday June 25,2024 at 3 p.m. I got there about 2:50 p.m. & I was told they had NO appointment for me .l I had the card that stated my appointment but they said they did NOT have an appointment for anyone by my name!!!!! My appointment was made over 2 months ago . The receptionist wrote the appointment on a card & gave it to me but she DID NOT register it in there appointment schedule!!! I have used Dunes Optical services for over 20 years. I have had three optometrists during this time - Dr. Jon Bausback, Dr. Michael Bassett, and just recently, Dr. Laura Zaknoun. They have all been so considerate and professional. I have no complaints whatsoever. I think the new place on Franklin St. is great. Everyone is friendly and knowledgeable . I have worn glasses for the past 50 years and never had such an disgusting experience as I did with Dunes optical! They are all sugar and spice until your prescription is wrong 3 times, 3 remakes...suddenly the smiles and professionalism is out the door! and they began the "blame" game..was told, the problem was that my frame was too big"... (I had my own frame designer Coach medium size, and smaller than the frames they had on display) What an excuse! I ask for a refund and they deliberately withheld 30percent of what I paid! Was told by the office manager Tegra it was a "restocking fee".. again.. I used my own frame! In the beginning Tegra office manager did tell me I would not be charged, because it was my frame, not theirs however, later got a phone call and said yes, after all they would be charging me the fee..restock grounded lenses?... NO WAY!...withheld 111.00! Stay away! read more

Very nice experience. Bought 2 pairs of sunglasses and love them. Also bought a new pair of vision glasses and they are the best pair of glasses I have ever owned. I would never again go to dunes optical. I went about a month ago because I had something stuck in my eye. Dr Bassit could not get it but the other Doctor removed a small fiber from my eye. No surgery just tweezers. I received the bill today and for that removal it was 954 dollars. That was not including the 135 for the doctor. Sickening that they could charge that much. Franciscan doctors are all a rip off! I would give minus stars if I could! read more
