Bought an item that was faulty. Took it back the following week with receipt. The manager 'John'…read morerefused to take item back and wouldn't recognise british consumer law. Argued the point with him. Didn't get anywhere. Refused to give me his surname so I could complain to head office. Then he called police. They attended. Couldn't see why he was refusing refund. Asked for his surname. He refused their request. I left and fired off complaint to head office. Jordan in Customer Service asked for proof of purchase. I replied that he was missing the point. He should be dealing with embarrassment caused to me being led out of store by police and very poor handling by manager. I also send copy to CEO Chris Dawson. I Get a letter a week later informing me I am nationally banned from all range Stores. I call Jordan to ask what is going on? He says Scunthorpe Manager 'John' has banned me and Head Office can't overrule. I ask why CEO hasnt acknowledged my email. I am told that CEO of The Range doesn't talk to customers. Ask to speak to Jordan's manager and he doesn't speak to customers either. I am not the only one who has run up against this thieving shoddy company. just Google, The Range Reviews or complaints and you will see a pattern. Have now passed on to Trading Standards and BBC Watchdog. I have had to keep this report brief because of the word limitations on Yelp. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful the wardrobes came exactly on the day and time promised straight to my new home, ready for my move. A stressful time made easier by a great local company.

I'm guessing the first one is plain stupid (well stupid is as stupid does) so I got y sorry looking butt down to Red Brick Mill. What a pleasant find it is too. They pride themselves on some of the North's leading contemporary designers and their furniture is sheer class. They are home to 35 cutting-edge designers and there is enough inspiration to keep even my motor mouth quiet for an hour or so. If you want to jazz up your lounge, no problem. Slick and chic sofas sit along side funky tables. You'll even find plush flooring, cookware and gifts. It's quite pricey but sometimes money does buy taste and it shows here. Add to that four cafes to refresh those flagging shopping legs and it's worth a punt. A definite reason to venture into Batley and spruce up the house in your life.
