I think the first visit was on a very slow day and young kids in BMWs made it a bad experience. So I went back a year later and am so glad I did. The employee was different the service was different and the food was great. Very nice atmosphere and the server was kind. My old lady has met and conversed with the owner in the past and it is as good as she led me to believe.

The owners Mark and Carol were more than accommodating, and they made us feel very welcome during our weekend getaway. The room was spotless and super cozy. We honestly got the best sleep ever as the beds were super comfortable. The included satellite TV service was a nice touch, as we were able to watch some good shows while unwinding from our day. The included breakfast was absolutely fantastic. Everything was super fresh and it screamed top quality ingredients. I had gotten the special with truffle and asparagus with home fries and it was VERY good. My lady had scrambled eggs with sausage patties, blueberry pancakes, home fries toast and she loved it as well. That same night we had dinner in the restaurant named Butter, and it was such a treat. The menu is extensive enough to have a variety of options without being overbearing. Dinner was just as amazing as breakfast, and EVERYTHING we had was top tier. We got a Tokyo Mule, the Sidecar, The Margarita Flatbread, the Lobster Campanelle, the Horseradish Crusted Salmon, a Nutty Irish dessert cocktail and an Espresso Martini alongside a dessert (I can't remember which one we shared). We devoured absolutely everything we had. Portions were generous and the flavors were out of this world. Customer service on the restaurant side was also very good. Do note that dinner isn't included in your stay, but I HIGHLY recommend trying the restaurant. Aside from all of the above, I can't overstate how good the customer service was here. Mark and Carol really made this place feel like a second home. The decor also gives that feeling, and it all culminates to being one of the best places I've ever stayed. Don't hesitate. Highly recommended!

Super fun and tasteful decor! Also very warm and welcoming inside as they had the fireplace lit with candles. We were instantly greeted by name and was offered a complementary champagne toast and dessert for saying we were celebrating! We ordered homemade ricotta & bruschetta, both of us got the porck chops, and split the cranberry creme brulee. It was one of the best meals we've both had. We are dreaming about that pork chop, had such delicious flavor, juicy, and decent portions! The mushroom sauce was also super flavorful with the mashed potatoes cooked perfectly. Our waitress was very personable and attentive to us as well. She made small talk and seemed very interested in our day. We would love to consider this place for rehearsal dinner when we have our big wedding in a couple years! Awesome food and place!!!

Very small menu and not outrageously expensive. Service got better and the food was ok. Sirloin steak cooked nice but needed better flavor, baked potato small and hard, and asparagus was not grilled kinda steamed. My burrata and pasta was good. I got the Sullivan Burger, which at $22 I thought would be a satisfying and substantial thing, but in reality it was disappointingly small (and this is saying something for me because I think most American portion sizes are too big). It would have been fine if it were priced more in the mid $10s, but I think this is just a resort gouging a captive audience. Beyond the food, the decor felt like an airport waiting room, and they were playing both music and had the volume up on some insignificant college basketball game, which made for a confusing and loud experience. Skip this bland experience for something better.

Our waitress, checked in and asked if this was our first visit. It was and she excitedly explained the menu and some suggestions. It was wing night, so when in Rome! Wings are hickory smoked, rendering that fat and then deep fried for a perfect crust. She gladly split the order between sweet chili and the perfect heat hot (buffalo) sauces. We both opted for the two meat plates sampling the brisket, pulled pork & Cheese Stuffed Andouille Sausage along with our sides of Brown Sugar-Bourbon Baked Beams, Pickled Red Beets, Mac & Cheese and mixed vegetables. Let's start with the sides; these are not stuff thrown on the plate. They were tasty and perfect companions to the meats. Brisket and pork were moist with plenty of smoke. The sausage, crisp casing and plenty juicy. No rack full of barbecue sauces here, just the deep flavored house sauce that perfectly paired with the meats. Plan on asking for to go boxes, the portions aren't a joke. No room for desert tonight, but the waitress made sure we knew about the other weekly specials. We'll be back soon(and will post an update) for the Hickory Smoked Prime Rib. And I can't forget about the building and dining rooms. Charming, the scent of wood smoke as soon as you get out of your car. Lots of respect for the historic building.

Paid $6 per person for a slice of bread - like wtf is this? Every other restaurant gives bread for free. This place is not only the most beautiful dining establishment in all of northeastern Pennsylvania…read moreand the Poconos, but also has the finest dining service, selection, and quality of food and drink, as anywhere I've ever been. From being greeted by the parking valets, Stanley & Dwayne, (who actually ran ahead of me to be able to open the door for me), to the host being extremely accommodating after I realized I was an hour early for my reservation, the bartenders, the servers, the food runners, several managers stopping by to see if everything sufficed. The amuse bouche was absolute perfection! My Caesar salad with boquerones was as good as I've ever had anywhere. I ordered the salmon as my entrée. I considered not ordering it because it came over risotto, but was assured by one of my servers, Angela, that I would not be disappointed. I've never had a great risotto served to me in a restaurant other than at Cafe Rinaldi in old Forge. I was gladly mistaken. This risotto was perfectly prepared and perfectly flavored, it was incredible. Their cocktail selection is perfect. Annie takes the classics, and makes them her own, with homage to the spectacular gilded age surroundings, right down to the rarely seen ingredients and glassware. There's a libation for everyone's taste and a great wine list as well. The Mansion Manhattan was as good a Manhattan as I've had anywhere. Their level of service is unsurpassed by anywhere in the northeast. This certainly has a lot to do with the leadership and the training program (not to mention, their hiring process must be impeccable!). The only place that could even compete with it service-wise is the French Manor in Sterling. This is one of the only two fine dining restaurants in all of northeastern Pennsylvania. I noticed that every party that walks through the doors is treated like they are the most important guests of the evening. (THAT is another component of fine dining). When you go, take a minute to walk around and see the different rooms and compare them to the original pictures from the early 1900s that were used in the restoration process. Amazing!
