A beautiful living room area where residents can sit and chat and watch tv. A kitchen area for residents provides healthy snacks and a new coffee machine to enjoy a variety of hot drinks. You will be greeted by warm and friendly staff, who make you feel at home. Managment staff, nurses and caregivers are professional and kind with a smile on their face to the residents and families as well. Riverview has exceptional management staff. Director of Riverview Maryanne Tomlinson is topnotch at her job. Maryanne is friendly, listens attentively, proactive, and if an issue needs to be addressed, Maryann finds the solution immediately. Hayden Director of Wellness, meets the health and welfare needs of all the residents. You never have to worry about your loved ones as Hayden makes sure is resident is looked after.. Sarah director of Entertainment exceptional for arranging a wide variety each month of various social activities for the residents. Musical guests will perform, their is dancing, outings to shop, exercise programs and many more activities. Riverview plans events as a Christmas brunch &, high tea and special activities for all holidays.. A variety of nutrition daily meals are provided by the chef and dietary needs are met for the residents. Riverview Terrace is comforting to residents with Alzheimer and dementia, offering a wide range of care options tailored to different needs of the residents I have witnessed first hand how patience and respectful the staff is to all of the residents. Not sure of this the " first" review but my father is new to CF on the past year. He likes it…read moreok...food is ok ( a bit bland but ok). Building is kept clean and doesn't smell like poopy pants like some nursing homes. Few activities planned a week and a few trips to the mall time to time by bus. Not enough entertainment like music or bands. This age group thrives with music so they need to get more musical acts. In the winter not much to do unless you like exercising with a balloon or play cards with a volunteer. Only 2 psw's at night for 30 ppl so they are run of their feet dad says. Dad has a psw hired privately to help him with extra stuff (going out for a walk, play games, etc) this psw has helped him a lot and a good idea as CF psw's have a lot to do for everyone. One problem - an RN who is nasty and moody. She rotates floor to floor but dad cringes when she is on his floor. She gets snappy with residents and cross with staff Infront of residents. Never smiles or says hello. Dad isn't sure why she hasn't been fired? NO ONE likes this woman- no one. Nancy is her name. Short and stalky with brownish curly hair. If your moving your loved one here, stay clear of Nancy. I'm sure if you ask the manager, he/she will know who you mean. My wife and I plan to speak to management if dad has anymore complaints about her. He doesn't like to rock the boat and my wife and I don't want him to feel the backlash if she gets reprimanded. Scary yea- but if he likes everything else there, he can stay for now. Growing old is so scary and all we want is for our aging parents to be comfy and happy like they were living in their homes. "Treat your residents like they are your grandparents" should be the motto. I liked Winston park but dad wanted to be close to his girlfriend. Good luck all and please don't let Nancy be the reason why you didn't choose CF.

My father who is 91 found Aberdeen Gardens while searching for respite care for my 91 year old…read moremother while he needed to have surgery. They were invited by Rachel Carver, Assistant Executive Director, to join the residents for a complimentary lunch before making a decision. My mother is ciliac and the chef customized a beautiful salad for her enjoyment. They were also taken on a tour of Aberdeen Gardens and she was shown the room she would stay in. My parents were so impressed with both the retirment home and its amenities, but the real decision was made after meeting Rachel and the amazing staff. I live in Atlanta, GA and arrived in Hamilton the day of my father's surgery. I visited my mother at Aberdeen and was immediately welcomed by the lovely staff at the front desk and was immediately taken to be introduced to Rachel and Nicole Barrett, Director of Care. They immediately updated me on my mother's care and after visiting her I saw that she is actually learning some things to help her to be more independent once she goes home. My mother is not able to get out of bed on her own, dress herself or know when to take her pills. The staff at Aberdeen make sure she is bathed and dressed and she enjoys going for meals in the dining room. There is also live entertainment and my mother was able to have her hair styled once a week, which is fantastic. We had to extend my mother's stay due to my father's recovery time and Rachel and Nicole said they would be able to accomodate the request, which was a huge relief. My mother goes home in two days, and to say our family is eternally grateful to the entire staff of Aberdeen Gardens is an understatement. I truly hope that one day, if the need arises, that my parents will become full time residents at Aberdeen Gardens where my family knows they will be very, very happy! Thank you to everyone!
