Food was excellent and diverse in the styles offered. The outdoor area is good for all year.

I always tend to get the same thing in Chinese restaurants which is due to my lack of adventure when it comes to Chinese food for risk of bumping into something containing fish sauce! So, I had my usual Kung Po chicken and it was yummy! Probably the nicest one I've had in any restaurant and also probably one of the more expensive ones too! The staff are polite and always welcoming. They are always looking to see your impressed face with they bring out their speciality Dim Sum, which sadly would have left them staring at my face for a long time as I'm not Dim Sums best friend, although the people I was with loved it! Despite the price, the food is incredible and always worth a visit instead of picking up the phone and ordering from your usual!

It's not the cheapest chinese place in Belfast - you'll pay about £18 for a fish dish like seabass or dover sole - but I wouldn't say you're paying over the odds either as the quality is good. Beef and chicken dishes - the beef in plum sauce is great and an unusal combo to see on a menu - is from memory over a tenner, but the sides of rice, noodles etc are only £2 so it kind of evens itself out. You can also get pak choi as a side order which again is slightly unusual and really tasty. If you want to go for the full three courses, the set menus would probably be a more cost effective option. I haven't gone for that as I tend to OD on starters (crispy shredded chicken and the old favourite of duck pancakes, plus chilli ribs) and then grind to a half way through my main course. For those who don't like chinese food (and presumably go to a chinese restaurant by mistake) there is the usual chicken maryland or steak. The shame of ordering those though. You may get lucky enough to get parked on the road outside, but I can't vouch for this as I only go out at night by taxi! It's also really worth a visit for dim sum - you have to request the menu. Yum.

Tonight I ordered avocado, egg and asparagus rolls served with traditional garnishes of pickled ginger, wasabi and soy sauce. Wonderfully delicious, fresh and mouth-wateringly flavourful. As well as Sushi Gangnan serve Dim Sum and Tempura dishes, both with a vegetarian option available. Plus there's a full range of Honey Chilli, Peking, Curry, Kung Po, Satay, Szechuan, Black Bean, Teriyaki, Cashew Nut and Black Pepper etc meals, all also available as vegetarian dishes. Additionally there are noodle, soup, fried rice and traditional Chinese dishes. An extensive menu. It's sometimes extremely difficult to get a table in Gangnan, especially over lunchtime, as it's very busy and popular with Asian patrons. I sat in Gangnan on my visit tonight, however takeaway and delivery are also available. The restaurant itself is small, simple and clean. Prices, portion sizes, service and atmosphere are good. Plus it's BYOB. I will be returning and can see myself becoming a regular customer.

Rang at 8.25 and they said it was on the way then again 20 minutes later when it still hadn't arrived. We ordered wontons which had absolutely no filling - just greasy flat bits of filo. The "Vietnamese" spring rolls were just standard greasy pre-made rubbish, not the fresh rice paper rolls we were expecting. The special fried rice was just standard fried rice with 4 small pieces of chicken and 2 prawns on top - no veg or anything. The only nice thing was the miso soup but unfortunately half of it had spilled in the bag making the spring rolls even more soggy. Definitely won't order from here again.
