An outdoorsy, expensive, large store in the heart of canal park. I do love the women's section, however, everything seems to be a tad overpriced to my taste. The customer service lacks in welcoming and assisting. I have came in here to purchase many things, however, once I realized I can buy the same thing online for 50% cheaper, that's when I stopped shopping. I do appreciate the DULUTH PACK clothing, camping, ice fishing, hunting merchandise. I also have about six different color crossbody bags made by duluth pack and they are extremely good quality. I just feel as if the price needs to be marked down. If you haven't been, stop in just to look! Maybe you will really love it? read more

I love walking around this store! And they are DOG FRIENDLY! I get most of my BWCA gear here, including maps, and my permit! I order online and love everything I've received. It's all made with excellent craftsmanship and quality materials. Their items are comparatively expensive to mass-produced, assembly-line, overseas crap, but for American materials, American labor, and American quality that they stand behind, you can't find a better value. Compare their American bison leather goods to any other store selling bison leather, and you'll see what a great value Duluth Pack is. I have the full range of their safari duffels, a couple backpacks, a market tote, a few messenger bags, and dopp kit, and it all cost less than one entry-level LV bag. Invest in timeless style and unparalleled American quality the manufacturer and maker (literally the craftsperson who writes his or her name on the tag) stand behind, not a trite logo or sweatshop junk. I keep reading these amazing reviews. I have a colleague whose bag I've admired for years. Finally got my own and it was such a letdown. My bag looks fake. It's not the same bag they show on the website. It's just NOT a $300 high quality bag. Like I am so worried I got scammed. I am also in shock. I love in the Twin Cities and didn't want to go all the way to Duluth to buy it and so I ordered it. Big mistake. The bag must be a fake. This isn't a fake review. This is what happened to me, today, when I excitedly opened that box and this horrid, plastic-looking bag was what I found. And how many colors of leather are there/ The website shows that the leather is one color. My bag is several colors and it's not a tannery issue. The color difference is way extreme. I ordered a pair of Moose Hide Gloves from Duluth Pack. I received the outer pair in the correct size with the inner liner being a size smaller - which didn't fit. To return the gloves I had to pay $9.43 shipping. Do yourself a favor and shop elsewhere. Their whole ordering and shipping system is not customer friendly. So I was charged $9.43 to try on a pair of gloves that were mismatched and didn't fit. read more

BEWARE OF LIFETIME WARRANTY!! It was interesting to read one of the first reviews on here where someone mentioned it came down to one product vs Duluth Pack, and they mentioned the other didn't offer a lifetime warranty. So here's my story: I have had a Duluth Pack Briefcase (they call it a portfolio) for about 20 years. I have used it for for work and travel a lot, and always had it in my possession (i.e. it was never checked luggage). I've also never dragged it through the street or abused it in any manner. Eventually the brass pieces on the strap broke, holes started to develop, and wear and tear occurred as one might expect. I always had the lifetime warranty thing in my head, and knew I could send it in for covered repair. I finally broke down and mailed it to the Duluth Pack Repair Facility knowing I would be in Duluth in the near future. I then received a call from their site saying I'd have to pay $20 for a strap, $60 for hole repairs, and $60 for repairs to the patch area among other things. They also stated nothing was covered under warranty as it was wear and tear. Everyone I have ever know thought/thinks that Duluth Pack products have lifetime warranties. I then went online and sure enough it doesn't cover wear and tear, and I guess they have zero tolerance for what they consider wear and tear. I stopped by the shop, picked up the pack and kindly stated I now understood the policy, but everyone I have ever spoken to about their products thinks lifetime warranty is lifetime warranty, and the wear and tear thing wasn't in my mind and probably theirs either. The person at the desk quickly gave me a piece of paper explaining the warranty (she seemed like she'd been through this many times), and I said I didn't need it as I understood the policy now. She said I should take it to give to my friends so they know about this, but I declined and noted that I'll be throwing the briefcase in the garbage and shopping for a new one somewhere else. Oddly enough I saw Frost River right down the street, I'm sure they will be happy to help me out, hey maybe they'll even repair my Duluth Pack bag for a reasonable amount and not the cost of a whole new bag!! I'll post this on Facebook too so the word is spread. This is pretty poor service in my opinion and I will never buy from Duluth Pack again. read more

My wife and I have shopped many times at the online store but never visited the actual store. When vacationing in Duluth with our dogs, we made this a must visit. The store is so much more. But the best thing about our visit is that we were allowed to bring our three dogs in to look around. Everyone was so friendly and the dogs were greeted by everyone. It was such a fun experience. read more

I tried a few weeks ago to order a shirt from Duluth Pack Store, for my son for Christmas. It was the only thing he asked for and has been admiring this "blanket shirt" for about a year. First I tried to order it online but my order just wouldn't go through. So I decided to call the store directly. They were clearly having technical problems and were unable to process credit card orders. So they wrote my card # down and assured me that the order would process the next day. Silly me, I believed them. Today they called me, on Dec. 20th to tell me that they had trouble with finalizing my order. Why they decide to wait two weeks to let me know this is unbelievable. This is a $240 shirt. I guess my business isn't very important to them. They tell me that they will upgrade the shipping to two day so that the shirt arrives on time. Once again, I believe them. I just got an email from UPS that the order will arrive on the 30th of December. That's way too late! What happened to two day shipping. TERRIBLE service. Considering rejecting the package when it comes, because it's just horrible that they would let a customer down like that. read more

Their store is full of interesting and cool things, but most of it is very overpriced. The products do not last as long as the company claims and the lifetime guarantee does not cover these repairs. Overall, I would say its a great store to window shop and buy interesting gifts, but I would stay away from the packs and apparel. Those two are overpriced for the quality you get. read more

I wanted to get a a Duluth Pathfinder back pack. I noticed that Pathfinder had a 20 percent off on all their gear, Duluth supplies their Pathfinder packs. I went to the Pathfinder online store, they were out, but had a notice that they would notify when they got some in, no rain check mentioned. I called Pathfinder and they told me they would not be able to give me a rain check, I asked why, they said, Duluth couldn't get them any bags before Christmas. Being on the Duluth websites minutes before, I noticed they had them at full price, now I'm getting the picture. Pathfinder can't supply, so they blame it on Duluth, then when you call Duluth they give you a song and a dance. Yes you can get them, but not at the 20 percent, yet you have them , but Pathfinder can't get them. This sounds like a bit sneaky. After getting nowhere when I called Duluth, I told them I would take my business to Frost River. This is no way to run a business , trickery and deceitful .., I like Dave Canterbury from the Pathfinder School/store, but now won't buy because of this. read more

I just bought what I thought was a great bag (and they aren't cheap!) but seemed worth the investment. I love the bag itself, but within the first week, took it to a pool and must have gotten a few drops on it from the towel I was wearing, and the entire bag is ruined as it is bleached with spots. Apparently this is not covered under warranty (though customer service was very nice) so I just basically threw away the money I spent last week. So disappointed! Beware- these bags are supposed to be rugged, but not around pool/hot tub!! read more

I have been going through an ordeal with customer service for 2 weeks (!!!) over a discount code. They have now decided to honor the discount code for any purchase made on the site (open to everyone- frivolity15 for 15% off) but said they could only give me a gift card for the amount that I'm owed, not a refund. I don't want anything else from this company based off of the horrible customer service. I love this place! Their luggage has made it to rural Uganda with us as well as Belgium, Switzerland, Denmark, and the Czech Republic and still looks like it has a lot more countries worth of travel left in it. I also love the Winona Knits mittens they sell-the best shovelling mittens around.
