Messed up billing? Me too. If you are having problems like I did with lack of communication, incomplete billing, duplicate billing, miscoding, billing of different amounts for the same service, or refusal to send through insurance you can file a complaint with the Minnesota Attorney General: https://www.ag.state.mn.us/Office/Forms/ConsumerAssistanceRequest.asp If the AG receives enough complaints they investigate and can bring charges. For me, this wasn't enough because the AG could not compel them to file through insurance so I had to file a separate complaint through my insurance for the lack of filing as well as miscoding. It finally got resolved, but I needed all of these agencies to finally pay my bill without being constantly threatened with collections. You can also file a complaint with the BBB. Don't get me wrong my therapist is the best you can find in this area. However, the billing department along with the "manager" katie is some of the rudest and hardest to work with people. I started seeing my therapist ending of last year. I was completely honest with the lady in charge of billing(no longer works for this company) and told her my high deductible and what I could afford along with how it would work out with my deductible. She said don't worry about it and she'll figure it out. I tried to have this Conversation multiple times. She never handled it. She no longer works for the company. So I had to deal with it with a another person who also no longer works for the company and made arrangements for it to be taken out of my checks. Today I was informed my weekly visits will now be nearly $200 a visit or I can no longer be seen by my therapist. This was also from the office manager katie. I was paying what I can with little left to survive in the first place. Now I will no longer be able to be seen by the one therapist I actually enjoyed visiting. When I moved to Duluth it took me 3 tries to find a therapist. The first one was too minnesota nice. The 2nd one was a bit too punk rock. Then I landed at DCC. My home base. Maybe it is because I am a therapy veteran but I have standards, and they rise to my standards on every occasion....even when I call at 4PM on Fridays. They also employ great people! Great therapist. Terrible office management. If you have top notch health insurance to cover your visits here, then you will probably have a better time. Free consultation is merely a phone call questioning what your problem is, and suggesting a therapist. Nothing more. They don't care about your socio economic status, and won't bat an eye at sending your bill to collections after your card declines once. Hidden interest fees, even when you have a payment plan set up. You go in with one problem, you hope to fix, and leave with a whole new one due to the stress and overwhelming amount of your bill. After, each session I requested my bill information, and was given the run around. At my final session I was slapped with a ridiculously large bill. They will not cooperate with you, even when you have been consistently paying. read more

Wish I could give a better review however after one visit I was told that I would not be able to bring my kids with me to appointments anymore because they are toddlers and disruptive, because instead of having a waiting room like any other reputable place of business they have a hallway. I would also like to Add that my daughter who is 12 already had a therapist there that she was familiar with and really liked, son who is 9 was waiting to be scheduled and my husband was going to be setting up and appointment tonight during my session. I have to say that I am super pleased with my therapist. I feel comfortable and can see the progress that is being made. I am surprised by the other reviews considering that I know that I am getting help and know that I have to pay for my sessions.I have never gone to a Drs office thinking they were gonna see me for free. They take insurance and I know that I have to pay whatever my insurance doesn't pay. Who is going to see someone for free? read more

I want to make it clear that the counselors/therapists here I have dealt with are wonderful, as is the front desk staff. However the manager/owner, Katie, is incredibly rude, harassing, and unprofessional. She had my cell called 4 times in less than 24 hours... 3 times in 30 minutes. All because of an error made by my insurance. She spoke down to me, raised her voice, and repeated things multiple times in a condescending tone. I should also add that she refused any options for the mean time while my insurance is being figured out. So I am not allowed any appointments. She clearly doesn't actually care about the health of the clients but rather the money. read more

They don't care about the patients well-being. They will make you give up your credit/debit card info and if they don't like the time frame of when your insurance will pay they will just take it out of your account. They won't call and tell you when they will take it out a ton of money since it's "automatic" so the billing and manager stated. They took out over $1,200 leaving me and my 2 girls in a very hard financial situation taking all that money out. I couldn't feed my girls nor myself. Manager Katie didn't care whatsoever.
