Phenomenal. Would give more stars if I could. The staff is helpful and cordial as well. Definitely suggest going if you like fish and chips.

Food was amazing and staff were friendly :) I'd choose this place again! Also surprisingly a lot of options.

McDonald's - Order kiosks

Right. McDonald's Greymouth. We need to TALK…read more Took my daughter Courtney for a "quick and easy tea" because I couldn't be bothered cooking and she said she was "literally starving" (she'd had a snack 12 minutes before). Firstly why did the drive-thru take so long I aged a full year. Courtney had time to take 67 selfies and reconsider her whole personality. Ordered a Big Mac meal. The fries were colder than my ex's heart and the Coke had more ice than Antarctica. I don't want to chew my drink thanks. Courtney opened her nuggets, stared into the box like it had personally offended her and just said, "Mum... be serious." BE SERIOUS??? I just spent $30 on beige food, I AM being serious. And why does the ice cream machine always look like it's been through something. Emotional support needed. One star only because Courtney got a decent BeReal out of it and the free ketchup packets are basically currency in this house. Do better Greymouth x -Mummy boo Sharon x

I went during the busy lunch time, and they were short-staffed. Even so, orders were going out…read morequickly. Being able to order at kiosks certainly helped. Despite being busy, the one person working everything in the front was calm and pleasant. She even apologized to me for the wait although it actually didn't take very long at all. I had plenty of time to get back to the train. I was happy to find I could get a salad instead of fries (not that I don't like fries - believe me, I do), but way too many carbs have already been consumed on this trip. The photo showed a good-sized salad of mixed greens in a plastic container. What I really got came in a burger box (that's okay; better than plastic), and was actually the sandwich toppings shredded lettuce, 2 tomato slices, and red onion. (This is not the first time I've encountered this at a restaurant, that the sandwich toppings are presented as a salad.) The only dressing available was a balsamic. Since it wasn't a vinaigrette, it wasn't very tangy, but it was good. If you are making a same-day round-trip on the TranzAlpine Express, there's a pathway that ends up being a shortcut to the restaurant. When you get off the train, turn left, and walk towards the engine. (Don't exit the station.) Remain on the path until you get to the first cross-street. McDonald's is on your left. There's a crosswalk a little more to the left. It's just on one side of a roundabout so be extra careful and make sure you're looking in the correct direction before you cross.
