First, a word on the pleasures of Calle Regina. Like Calle Feria, Regina is just filled with treasures - two cute cafes, a funky t-shirt store, a little bookstore, lots of knick-knack stores, and then this: Dulce Regina.
Dulce Regina is the place, *my* place. The cookies here are pure heaven - buttery, sweet but not too sweet, filled with big chocolate chips. The classic will transport you back to childhood, and the various cookies of the day will make you feel like you're in NY. Oftentimes, the cookies are right out of the oven and the chips are still fantastically melty and gooey. And the folks who work there are actually friendly and chatty (it's rare to find a chatty store owner in Sevilla!)
This is the perfect pre- or post- Metropol Parasol pick-me-up. It will make the trip to that big, silly mushroom feel worthwhile.
Though some have bemoaned the price of Regina's cookies, I will say in Regina's defense that these cookies are pure buttery genius - so amazing, so tasty, and ALWAYS warm. Well worth the one euro-per-cookie price.
TIP1: 6 cookies for 5 Euros. Yes please.
TIP2: On Saturday afternoon, it seems to be a tradition that people go and buy one cookie apiece and stand outside hanging out. Cookies tend to sell out at this time. And it's not ever clear who is waiting on line, and who is just hanging out by the entrance.
TIP3: I have no idea what Dulce Regina's hours are but I know it's not open by noon on weekdays. (ADD: I can also confirm it's not open by 3:30PM. This makes me think its hours might be something like 4-8 PM). On Saturdays, it seems to be open by 12:30PM. read more
