From the actual display case we got carrot cake and a pineapple upside down cake bar and a nutella cupcake. I don't know how they make the pinapple cake bar but it was delicious! you could taste the crispy brown sugar that had been baked on. The carrot cake was moist and yummy too. But this time, I decided to give The Happy Cake Shop a try because who doesn't love a sweet treat? Let me just say I'm so glad I did! Been searching for a good Mexican bakery and I think I've found one. They used to be in the…read moreSouthside area and recently moved to the Westside. I've tasted their baked goods at the old location and they were very good. The new place is right beside a gas station so if you're traveling on a Lane Ave it's easy to miss. Although it may not be as good as ones I tasted in South Texas I'm just happy I found one in town. The day I visited I tried their Conchas the pink one, chocolate and vanilla. The bread are all the same, only difference is in the topping. I think it's a mixture of flour & sugar. I shared one with a friend and even after 2 days she said it still was soft and tasty. Important tip is if you want freshly baked goods you need to stop by after 4pm. I don't think they're competing with Dunkin Donuts as they don't start baking in the wee hrs of the morning.
