Their menu is an array of traditional pub faire and they have an extensive drink menu. The back patio runs up to a ravine with field stones offering an extra private escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The process of getting a seat was easy. We spoke with the hostess at the front of the restaurant and she seated us right away. Menus and cutlery were provided promptly and our server was also great and attentive the whole time! I tried the seasonal cider, a Wild blueberry and elderflower cider. It had the most incredible red colour. The flavour palate was perfectly sweet and balanced. I would have this every day! For food, we had the French onion soup. Honestly this was THE perfect French onion soup. No notes on what could be done better. My husband had the Philly cheese steak burger. It was very meaty. The demi glazed sauce was tasty, and the ingredients were fresh. I had the Tomato bacon sandwich. Each but was thoroughly cheesy, with meaty back bacon slices. Splurge for gravy! It was delicious with crispy fries and really elevated the meal. This spot is great for a family lunch or a date night. I will absolutely be recommending to friends and family in the future!

On their website, they highly recommend calling for a reservation (no online options are available) as they are a small pub. While there were tables available inside, and regular turnover on the patio, even on our midweek visit it was evident the suggestion was valid. (Since we were visiting to celebrate a birthday, I was sure to heed the advice.) Right from the appetizers, through the main course, right to dessert the food was fantastic as was the service and the patio was a beautiful place to dine. Loss of umbrellas, mature trees, and plenty of room between tables. We will definitely be returning.

They didn't bring us ANY cutlery, or the basket with condiments. Tried to get her attention multiple times and all 4 servers stood around the register chatting and ignoring us. The mozzarella sticks were cold and disgusting. The nachos had literally no cheese on them and most were burnt. The antijitos were tasteless and cold and hard. No space to them at all. I'll never go back here. The Kitchener location would turn over in its GRAVE if it knew how horrible the Guelph location is.
