If your DA and/or judge allows you to go here, be as grateful as possible. It's clean, heat/air, electronics allowed other than class and main office area, nicotine allowed outside, outside in general even though it's a small allowed area... (my county there is NO outdoor anything) private bath/shower (shared with 3 others or less in the females building), TV, beds with sheets .. not mats and make shift sheets IYKYK, warm blanket and soft pillows, your own food (HUGE) you bring, WIFI, friendly staff, prescription meds brought and kept safe, snacks to buy - cash only, etc. if you're privileged enough to be allowed this alternative, also allow yourself to be thankful and appreciative instead of complain and whine. Guilty, not guilty or whatever , this environment is better than where you were taken when arrested I can PROMISE that. Questions I had before being there... Vending is like concession stands and variety. List of stuff to bring I wish was a little more clear on the paperwork .. - I wish I would have brought another towel & washcloth (7 day stay). I brought 2 of each because it wasn't specified on that. - I took a chance and packed a razor, it was allowed to keep. - energy drinks are allowed and can be bought ($3) - I'm from 2 hours ish away, DoorDash was an option fortunately. As no one is near to bring a few grocery items I ran out of. - it's smart idea just to wear pajamas there, and change into a day outfit once clothing goes through dryer. - pack as if you remember how cold it was in jail and wish you wore warmer clothes ... my experience anyways lol at least it's not hot though. - you have plenty of space to put food etc. Advice : - follow simple rules ... all is smooth. - meds are put up to prevent theft or accusations of theft. - drying is for the reduction/elimination of potential..... tiny crawly things. That jails have... - be responsible on times on your schedule - considerate of others will make life better - be clean.. respect your environment - you get what you put in , participate in classes and have an open minded approach - remember, not everyone is given an alternative sentencing option.... Practice self reflection. For a DUI and this as an option, it's a short time for a long time and it's a time to realize how fortunate you are. As it's not the cheapest solution. Always stay humble and kind. A Huge thank you to the staff for kindness and a major thank you to the very caring individuals that realized jail is not always a solution for a mistake, disorder or productive to change/rehabilitation. And on top of that have made the environment much more comfortable than jail. read more

Really great place to stay. It is kinda pricey. But it's better than an alternative if you get a DUI and have to do jail time. The beds really aren't all that bad. You do have to share a room with other people. But u do have a nice sized bathroom in the rooms. It is kinda set up like a dorm. You have a full sized kitchen, but can only can use the microwave, has a living room area with a TV, a desk. a dining area with a table, your room has a TV. Dressers and bedside tables are available. You do have to take your own food. Which is not a big deal. TV dinners are great thing to take, yogurt, frozen breakfast sandwiches. Things like that. I would advise bringing some books or something to keep you occupied during your downtime. There were several people there when I stayed. Maybe some cards, board games or something like that. Everyone was very nice. As long u follow the rules they have u won't have a problem. The rules aren't bad. Just act like a grown adult with respect and you will be fine. Staff was friendly and attentive if u did need something. The 12 hour class is very informative. It's very engaging with the crowd. It is a mix of men and woman. The only time men and woman are together is in class. They do have separate buildings for the men and woman..You also learn alot from other people. If you engage in conversation with the instructor on material it doesn't seem like 12 hours. You do receive breaks. Lunch and dinner are provided on the day of the class. It is a very peaceful, quite, safe and country setting. Highly recommend staying there instead of in jail if your county allows. read more

Though the faculty itself is good at what it does and the director and most workers are awesome.. it's unprofessional and creepy to have a male supervisor walking into a woman's room without knocking. Knowing full well someone was in the shower and changing of clothes was happening. No knock just walked in. Gross and scary. Esp read more

I felt like I got a good education on alcohol and drug abuse, and I believe some on addiction. I believe this school is a good alternative, if you can afford it. You do need to plan out your day(s), that you are not in class, otherwise, they can be long. Tiffany, the director, is very nice and very helpful. The staff was wonderful and very accommodating. I can't say I had a bad experience. I would say to follow the rules, and you should have no problem. read more

I was allowed to go here instead of jail for a few months. However, due to DUI Education centers not adhering to the proper insurance they are supposed to carry per the county and requiring people to serve time consecutively, two Rutherford county judges stopped allowing anyone to receive jail credit here. I'm not surprised since this place offered no education other than a 5 minute movie in the mornings. They also charge upwards of $200 a night and provide no food. So basically it's a sham as far as any sentencing judge is concerned. Anyways, they have $2000 of my money that I prepaid for, and they said that since I didn't show up (even though Judge Bragg advised me not to), they aren't giving the money back. I would recommend this place to anybody. It's a great alternative to going to jail. It is clean and well-managed. The staff are supportive and knowledgeable. They even have a licensed addictions counselor on staff that you can talk to if need that kind of help. You can learn a lot in the different classes that they provide. If you have a DUI it's because you drove while impaired. To have a place like this where you can learn and get on the right track is awesome. And Tiffany is the best. read more
