Upon arrival we were greeted right away by two ladies, one of which was my consultant Jenna. She listened while I explained what my vision was (which was all over to be honest) and price point. She proceeded to show us around the racks and helped me select a number of dress while she also pulled some on her own. While trying on dresses she was always there to help unzip/zip me and was always there to offer advise or answer questions as my mom and I evaluated each dress. I was shocked at how many dresses I loved in the store, the selection was amazing! As the end of my 90min appointment was nearing I still had a few dresses to try and Jenna was kind enough to let me continue to try dresses on! On top of that my mother and I always had full water glasses. We eventually left, with a few dresses that we loved in mind there that Jenna wrote down for us. The next two stops for us could not hold a flame to the experience we had at Che Bella. Flutter, the second stop was great and had fine service but the dresses were just not my taste. Our third stop, The Wedding Shoppe was TERRIBLE! I was not even given my full 90 min appointment before my consultant ended it. I told her designers I liked, she never brought them in. Told her I wanted to try something with less/no lace, she brought more and more lace. Told her I wanted to try something strapless, she kept bring dresses with straps! After leaving my mother and I called Che Bella right away to see if we could come back and try a few more dresses on. They informed us they were closing in 45mins but to come on back! Once returning to Che Bella ( about 20 mins before close) Jenna was there to greet us again and had pulled the dresses that were my favs from that morning. I tried them all on, saving the best for last! Wearing that last dress I looked in the mirror behind me only to see my mom crying and Jenna even tearing up! It was a genuine moment and I appreciated it, Jenna took the time to get to know me and my mom, she actually cared that I was happy, that is customer service at its finest. As my mother and I cried after I said yes to the dress Jenna came out with champagne for my mom, myself and her! My mom and I sat in the closed shop and enjoyed a moment that we will never have again as a mother and daughter. They have pink slippers for you to use, or you can go barefoot. The entrance also has a nice little waiting area with comfy couches and a great view of all the dresses. Once you check in, you're greeted by your stylist. I should say that before your appointment, Effie's sends you a survey that includes your budget, styles you love, and more about you, so your stylist should have a general idea of what you like and what you can afford. Our stylist asked those questions again and had some dresses pulled for me to try on. More on that later! She lead us through the store and described each area of the store, including the 'off the rack' section, then gave me 5 tags to choose dresses I wanted to try on and let me and my group loose to find a gown. The off the rack section is sorted by size and is exactly how it sounds - you take the dress off the rack (normally at a discounted price) and go home with it that day. After we'd gone through the dresses and picked 5, we went back to our corner by the dressing rooms. My stylist had hung the dresses up in the room for me and said she'd be there for zipping and closing the dress. This took me by surprise, because the gowns I'd tried on before were complicated and would have been a struggle to pull them on by myself. Because I didn't have assistance, I had to let one dress go because I couldn't get it on by myself. Having said this, I'm sure there are some people who will really appreciate the privacy aspect because not everyone wants to be basically naked in a room with a stranger. For me, it would have helped to have assistance. As I tried on dresses and came out, my group was allowed to take photos, videos, and whatever we wanted. I even had one of my girls FaceTime my maid of honor because she lives in Pennsylvania - great connection! The lighting was natural and pretty and let us see the dresses at true color, which isn't always the case with bridal shops. I tried the dresses on that my stylist had pulled for me and LOVED them, but to my surprise, both of them were over my budget that I'd specified twice. One was about $1000 over and the other was about $300 over. This was disappointing to me, because I loved both of them. She did totally nail my style and picked beautiful gowns. As a counterpoint to this, she also talked to the finance part of the store when I tried the one on that was just over budget. If I bought it off the rack, it would be JUST in budget, so that was nice to know. Our stylist was patient with us, answered all our questions, and never made us feel rushed - even on a Saturday! They were more on the affordable side as well. Even though I didn't say yes to a dress here I will be coming back and bringing my daughter and mom and possibly find a second look here! I tried on a few of the stock dresses she has on her hangers (she literally customizes every dress to YOU, whether it's a custom style or not), and we started formulating an idea of what my ideal dress would look like. She ripped off sheats of organza and started wrapping them around my body, and suddenly a dress appeared! I had three more fittings with her, and each time I got more and more excited about what was taking shape. She totally supported my vision, guiding me along the way to ensure that I would look exactly how I wanted on my wedding day, and crafted an elegant, completely unique piece that reflected the atmosphere and aesthetic we were aiming for. Her attention to detail is impeccable (she even stitched into the dress my dad's initials, so I could feel like he was a part of things even in his absence). Her energy, her creativity, her ability to make a reality out of your vision is inspiring, and makes her creations stand out even more. I was able to explain my thoughts and ideas for the dress in rough/basic terms (poofy here, flowing there, etc) and she just totally got it... making it EVEN BETTER THAN I HAD IMAGINED it myself. Its such an amazing piece of art, Ive decided to have it framed. And it wasnt just my opinion... even the professionals i had hired for our wedding (photographer, videographer... Best Of Winners in their respective wedding field, who have seen their share of wedding dresses), SAID it was the most amazing, unique dress they have ever seen.
