I bought a Groupon for a 60 minute hot stone massage…read more Overall the massage itself was okay, but the person giving the massage was the only one working so she stopped the massage 3 times to step out of the room to answer phone calls, greet someone else who came in, etc. The hot stone portion of the massage didn't last more than a minute, and the massage didn't cover my head, feet, or front of my body at all. Scheduling the massage was pretty tricky due to a language barrier, but they're open much longer hours than most non-chain massage places so there were plenty of time slots to choose from.

Those two passions drove me to explore my options when I decided to return to college after an eight year break. When I started the Therapeutic Massage program I was not even sure at first that I had made the right choice. Everything looked good "on paper" but I had a bit of a disconnect between what I had pictured in my mind versus all the hours and hours of studying. Until finally, one day in one of my deep tissue classes, I had a breakthrough. An ah-ha! moment if you will. I was able to help a fellow student with a debilitating injury she had received at work that was severely limiting her ability to use her arm. After our "practice" treatment she realized that not only was able to fully use her arm but it was pain free for the first time in almost two weeks. It was an indescribable feeling. It was then that I knew I had stumbled into the career I was meant to be in.

My husband and I had the best massage today with Ally and Milanny. They were super sweet and you…read morecan just tell they have a lot of knowledge when it comes to technique because they hit many great spots. Milanny gave the best neck and head massage I've ever gotten. Very firm pressure really helped with my headache! Only thing I took off a star for is the booking system. When I booked the massage I opted to add the extra foot massage which was $10 extra per person but no where on Vagaro does it say how long it would be for the extra $10 which I thought was weird. We booked a 90 minute massage and we got the full 90 minutes but nothing extra for the foot massage? It's a full body massage so I assumed that foot was already included like every other place so I assumed I'd be getting extra time for the add on but I didn't. So I'm not exactly sure what the extra $10 is for if it seems like I'm just asking for more attention on my feet since I didn't get extra time, but that doesn't add up because why would I have to pay extra for something that is included in the massage and they do ask me what are my problem areas before we began. I wouldn't recommend doing the add ons until you call and ask exactly how that works. Aside from that we would totally be going back and highly recommend.

I am used to enjoying Thai massages--here in the US and in Thailand. When I lived in Los Angeles, I…read morewould typically treat myself to one at least once a month. You can imagine how over the moon I was to find this place in lil' Rhody. Thai massages are dry massages and involve a lot of gentle stretching and some acupressure. I typically leave energized and not sleepy. The massage quality is at par with what one would expect for this modality. I have no complaints here. The only setback is the service rate. This place, perhaps due to lack of competition, is pricey. This has prevented me from coming regularly. That said, if you've never had a Thai massage before and are curious about what makes it different--while not planning to visit Thailand soon, or any other state where there are more spas offering this service--then do visit Thai Tranquility Bodywork. It's worth being familiar with Thai massage, and this place does a good job.

They don't allow you to use any discounts when paying with a gift card. I have been here several times now and have always loved their service, atmosphere and care, and was so excited to book myself a birthday massage, after receiving an email for $15 off in my birthday month. I went to pay and use said discount and was told that because their gift cards can often be purchased through some sort of deal, I can't stack discounts. This, in theory makes sense, however, knowing that this gift card was not purchased at a discount, this seemed a bit strange (I guess there is no way for them to see that there was no discount applied to purchasing a gift card...). Anyway, I was disappointed in this, as I had booked mainly to be able to use this discount and there's no indication anywhere that says you can't use a gift card with it. To be totally clear- they are fantastic here. So friendly and welcoming, I've never had an experience any less than fantastic.
