There were times when I definitely considered changing attorneys as the process at times slowed to a trickle sometimes without explanation. Only in hindsight did I realize that life does happen and Ryan did not escape his own issues while on my case. But more important was his continuance on the case. What I expected from a lawyer was someone who listens to what you have to say and to give you the advice and alternatives that one seeks whilst asking questions. Ryan has dispensed the pros and cons and to make suggestions based on my current situation for me to decide. For that he did, which I greatly appreciate. There were times when the family issues got very heated and looking like it could escalate but Ryan's integrity, professionalism and a calm demeanour, would set the issues back on track. My whole Estate process & life eventually got back on the right road within a normal timeframe for the closing stages. Other firms I contacted, I was always connected with an assistance or intake person who had me fill out forms and sent me information for their fees which was convoluted and had the actual true fees buried and hidden in their document. Not sure why this is so common practice nowadays. I initially reached out to Aura because of their advertised pricing on their website which was then plainly and clearly confirmed in writing by Andreas who handled all the communication himself. Andreas is the lawyer who worked on my transaction. The very fact that Andreas answered my questions and handled my intake really set him apart from the crowd of other firms. The initial consultation with Andreas reinforced the fact that we had made the right choice as he re-assured us he will deal with any and all issues arising from the transaction. Unfortunately our purchase was riddled with issues with the seller and agent. Ultimately they had ripped out fixtures they were not supposed to and we are in the processing of dealing with that post-closing. Not only did Andreas gave care to our transaction like it was his own, he helped us understand our rights and options for litigation for various issues we had with the seller. In total, I'd estimate that he'd provided us 2-3 hours of extra legal advice and consultation above and beyond the real estate purchase. That was beyond appreciated and reminds of what a great decision it was to have him on our side. And did I mention his rate was below all the other folks that I contacted? Andreas was responsive, professional, firm, and not only makes you feel that he serves your best interest, he demonstrates it through his attention and actions. This glowing review may seem like a shill but I have gladly asked Andreas to use me as a reference for anything that is interested to know more about my experience with Aura LLP. In my previous real estate transactions I would have rarely spoken to the lawyer...it would only be on the signing of the documents briefly. After repeated calls checking on the status, I let Carlson know that we would be going to another law office. Our mother was luckier and her Will got completed. Fast forward to February 2018. I contact Carlson's office, twice, in late February 2018, requesting a meeting to see if we could employ him to probate my mother's Will (since he was the lawyer who made it). Carlson didn't even feel returning my phone call was worth his time - even to say that he didn't want the business. Unbelievable. I'm not sure what he views as important business for him - important enough to warrant a phone call or email back - but I would recommend you find another lawyer and not waste your time.
