Toronto family law attorney Gary Gottlieb recently crowed on Twitter about his "victory" in wining…read more$675,000 in attorney fees for his client after, according to fellow attorney Adam N. Black's Financial Post article, an "epic five year fight over the kids."    Clearly, the true winner is Gary Gottlieb, who ended up with much of the $1.7 million that the case cost. This case is a prime example of what a racket family courts are, with judges in on the criminal collusion   While I don't know the specifics of this case, the pattern of the racket is clear.   Corrupt judges heavy handedly favor corrupt attorneys like Gottlieb, and appoint corrupt "experts" at the attorney's request, all at enormous expense to the parents.   These court appointees work to make sure the cases are not settled too quickly to please and not anger attorneys like Gottlieb, who refer them.   They cover up or minimize abuse in favor of the abusive parent, who not so coincidentally is the wealthier parent, knowing the better parent has no choice but to fight to protect the kids.   They get other "expert" buddies involved to further muddy the waters and prolong the case.   They use a debunked pseudoscience called "parental alienation" to justify reversal of custody, often cutting off all contact between the kids and the better parent, thereby proving themsleves to be the true alienators.   They claim to be acting in the children's best interest, when in truth, it is always about the money and they will engage in all manners of fraud, falsifying of evidence or reports, obstruction, and collusion to make sure the money ends up in their pockets. To cover up their own complicity, the judges leave the better parent without the financial means to mount an appeal, after awarding the abusive parent sole custody.   They have no concern for the life long anxiety and stress caused to the children, who they order to be forcibly taken from their loved ones, home, pet(s), school and friends to go live with a parent who would subject them to such trauma, and to have no further ontact with the people they love and who love them.   Simultaneously, corrupt judges mislead a trusting public, unable to fathom such judicial sadism, corruption and duplicity, to believe that the better parent must have done something wrong to deserve such a punitive ruling, when in truth, no one's divorce should end in such an unjust, life destroying outcome.  In this case, Gottlieb's client didn't ask for $675,000 in attorney fees, Judge Heather McGee took it upon herself to bestow the unjustifiable, one sided order against a poor mother who the judge knew didn't have the money to pay.   Why would the "honorable" judge do this if not to cover up her own fraud and misconduct? Why go to court only to have one's life destroyed in a criminal racket? GOTTLIEB'S PEERS SHOULD HOLD HIM AND MCGEE TO ACCOUNT OR RISK LOSING ALL PUBLIC TRUST IN THE LEGAL SYSTEM. Until then, avoid courts until the children are too old to be used to pit and extort the parents and until you see unethical, racketeering attorneys, "experts", and judges lose their licenses and removed from the bench. No one should be above the law, least of all a judge or an officer of the court.

Whatever the cause, these are times of confusion, hurt, and personal unravelling, when we are no longer able to advocate for ourselves. It is at these times when we need the intervention, strategy and help of a strong professional lawyer the most! Someone to offer the steadfast presence, expert insight and guiding light to navigate the storm and see us through to safe ground. When we don't know where to turn for help, making the critical decision of reaching out for expert legal advice versus "letting things play out" will make the greatest difference of all to the outcome. For me, the person who made this difference in my life, in a radical, uplifting and significant way, is Mr. Ian Furlong, Partner at Thomson Rogers. I will forever be grateful to Mr. Furlong for his intervention, counsel and support at a time when I was unable to fight for myself. I cannot stress the importance of being so strongly supported, guided, defended and protected or the benefit of knowing that someone trusted and capable is in charge. It is my wholehearted hope that anyone looking for guidance or pertinent legal help reaches out to him & Thomson Rogers. Had it not been for Mr. Ian Furlong's legal counsel, as well as his generosity, empathy and kindness, I would have never been able help myself or achieve a positive outcome from unexpected and trying circumstances. Thanks to his professional and personal example, I will always think of reaching out for his legal counsel first in the future! It is truly the straightest path to the best outcome!
