On the statutory question asking if I had ever been refused or rejected entry to Canada or any other country, I answered NO-because that's what my previous agent told me to do. I actually had a U.S. visitor visa refusal, but I was assured it "wouldn't show up" and that Canada wouldn't see it. Surprisingly, my student visa was approved. Later, when I needed to extend my student status, ! applied on my own (DIY). That's when I discovered that Canada and U.S. DO share immigration information. I realized how lucky I was the first time. Since I couldn't afford a lawyer at that time, I kept the same answer for consistency, even though it stressed me out every time. This continued through my PGWP as well.
