I still can't believe how JCA was able to help us!!!!…read more Let me share a bit of our story. I first came to Canada on a student visa. On the statutory question asking if I had ever been refused or rejected entry to Canada or any other country, I answered NO-because that's what my previous agent told me to do. I actually had a U.S. visitor visa refusal, but I was assured it "wouldn't show up" and that Canada wouldn't see it. Surprisingly, my student visa was approved. Later, when I needed to extend my student status, ! applied on my own (DIY). That's when I discovered that Canada and U.S. DO share immigration information. I realized how lucky I was the first time. Since I couldn't afford a lawyer at that time, I kept the same answer for consistency, even though it stressed me out every time. This continued through my PGWP as well. But everything changed when it was time to apply for Permanent Residency. The background check is extremely thorough, I knew they would eventually see the U.S. refusal. And I also knew for a fact that this could be grounds for misrepresentation, which could have sent us home and resulted in a five-year ban. That's when I contacted JCA for help. Even though they were positive, I had doubts-because this wasn't just one incorrect statutory answer, but THREE separate applications with the same issue. Still, JCA handled everything professionally, carefully, and confidently. They guided us step by step, prepared all the explanations properly, and represented our case the right way. And today, me and my wife are officially approved for Permanent Residency--all thanks to JCA. If you think your case is too complicated or you're scared you might get refused, I HIGLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend JCA!!!. They truly know what they're doing, and they turned what felt like an impossible situation into our biggest blessing. Thank you, JCA! Especially to Ms. Gin and Atty. Jake Aguilar. You are the best!!!!!!

I am writing this review with carefully thinking this through and trying to look at all aspects of…read morethe situation in which I have encountered with this firm. I want to write this review from my experience with Mr Picov which dated mid-April 2020. I had purchased an investment property and very fortunate to be in a position to purchase an investment property even at this time of pandemic. But wanted to ensure I am very aware of all costs involved ensuring I would not put myself in a bad financial state. This being said we are not a wealthy couple but we make sure we always plan ahead and invest so we are secured for our retirement. We make an honest living and try not to spend money in areas where we believe is excessive. Such as designer bags, clothing etc. We generally like to spend time at home and cook our meals and rarely go out. The point is we budget everything we spend and know how hard it is to make a dollar. Because we paid our way through school by working part-time jobs to make sure we were not in debt when we graduated. We are in our early 40s and saved enough to purchase an investment property. So we had contact Mr Picovs firm to handle our investment property. Our realtor had referred us to him so decided to pay him a visit. It seemed like he knew very well of the builders and helped out a few clients. The initial visit was okay but he would ask on several occasions as to what I did for a living. Didn't bother me but I knew he was asking because my wife and I really don't look our age. We firmed up our offer with our realtor and decided to go with Mr Picov as our lawyer as he had experience with this developer on our 2nd visit with him. During this time allot of home owners were applying for mortgage deferrals and our approval process was taking longer then anticipated. Understanding this I had made sure prior to signing the contract that there was a clause to ensure finances must be approved. It was coming closer to our closing date and our mortgage was not approved yet. Verbally it was approved by our mortgage specialist but it was still with the underwriters. I get a call from Mr Picov and he was stating the urgency that we need to proceed with this contract if not the deal will fall. I said I understand this but was not comfortable in signing anything yet or starting the work until I have signed my mortgage papers. He had recommended we do this so we can get the paper started so we can meet the closing date deadline. I told him the situation with the bank and there is longer then normal processing periods for mortgages because of the current pandemic state. But he had still insisted we go along with this because there is allot of paperwork that needs to get done to meet the closing date. I got upset with him at this point and told him I am aware and if we need to default this contract I am fine with that because I do not want to be put myself at any risk. This is an investment for us and if banks are having a hard time providing mortgages to other borrowers who's to say I would get my mortgage approved by the underwriter? I emailed Mr Picov the next day and apologized for getting heated in the call. I then have called him and based on his recommendation I did provide him with a deposit to start the paperwork. I get a call back from the bank a few days later and they have told me they cannot approve this property. The reason being is the underwriters could not approve because of the clause in the contract. So I called Mr Picov and told him the situation and he understood. Then I brought up the cost of the deposit if he could refund me and he was telling me that there was allot of work done and was saying he could not. I totally get that but the response and attitude I got from him was very unprofessional. He did work for me I agreed but based on his recommendation which I had stated I was not comfortable with. There is more but I would just leave at here and I would like to tell folks to really reconsider.
