I've played badminton there a few times and gone to several X-biking and Zumba classes. The booking systems has caused some problems in the past with them double booking badminton courts on a few occasions. That said, the staff have been helpful and rectified the mistakes.

Predominately a cardio gym, the weights section is limited, with dumbbells going to a fairly respectable 30kg, but the last time I visited, there was only one bench, and no barbell bench press. The Crystal Leisure Centre is known for its water features, Jacuzzi, pool, waterfall, current streams and SLIDES. But it also has a gym and tennis court. The original Salvation Army hall was destroyed to make way for the massive Tesco that now looms over the town. This replacement hall was built on Meredith Street and as these places go, it is a pretty smart and well-equipped place of worship. There's a big car park, which is always packed during services. There's also a nice conservatory/café area here they hold craft groups, meet ups and meals for local elderly people. They also have a play area and run moms and toddlers groups.

Whether that w as because we were going swimming rather than having any lessons, I'll let you decide. Regardless of this, the leisure centre has seemed to lose its appeal as I've grown older. Not so much with the swimming aspect, regrettably, but the gym that lives on the second floor. Now an avid gym goer, Halesowen Leisure Centre Gym was one of the first gyms I ever attended and how times have changed. Upon signing up the staff were extremely helpful, I could not fault them at all, but the actual equipment left a lot to be desired. A peculiar key system which tracked your progress was installed, which immediately became annoying and unnecessary. In their defence, the gym seems to be mainly orientated around fitness, having only a select few weight machines and no bench press or squat rack. My stay at the gym lasted a good few months, but paying over £20 a month as a student I cut my losses and left.
