My child has wheelchair support per his IEP and was denied access/ support on multiple occasions by two teachers. One teacher told him if his feet hurt from his impairment, he could sit on the ground during a field trip. Shame on you Parker Whitney and RUSD - Do better!! My advice for parents of children with IEPs: Trust your kids. If they come home telling you about unbelievable hostile and traumatizing events that happened in the classroom from teachers/ staff, believe them!

Sure, it's very nice and they remodeled it several years back, the teachers are friendly enough, but as far as education goes, parents can do much better. What makes this a 2-star rating is the fact that I was tormented constantly and it had gotten so out of hand, my parents considered switching schools. There are better schools out there.

We had 6 years experience with another elementary school and just didn't have that satisfied feeling. Not the case with Creekside Oaks Elementary School aka COES. 1st grade with Mrs. Herrera was great. She really seems to care about the students. My son was very happy going to school everyday. 2nd grade with Mrs. McCracken has been incident free and she even takes the time to address each of my sometimes (admittedly) asinine questions and concerns with a sincerity that can not be faked.
