Mattew Stebbins has told me he loves his job, and the people he works with. Apparently he still owns a supper club but used to own many other restaurants. And then he's got this guy I asked him today who's your alter ego and he said Vincent you know Michael Jackson and the thriller. These are good honest people. Too bad the rest of the world wasn't like this company. I need to meet the owner because when you got somebody at the top with good people underneath now you know they got the Holy Spirit and they're not going to screw you. Yes you might pay more than other companies, ask them what their warranty is, is it transferable if I sell my home? What quality materials do you use and why? Thought about doing the whole move myself, but decided to look at some prices of movers just to see what was out there. Most of the places around were a little too pricey for what I could have probably done myself, but figured I'd call around. I got a hold of Tim and he seemed a lot more personable than the other places, but the price seemed to be just right for our amount of stuff. Thought I might as well go for it because honestly, I didn't want to do it myself in the snow. Tim was good about calling in advance to verify the times, and showed up himself for the move. I will say, at first I felt like the guys seemed a little rough around the edges, but by the end of the move we were all cracking jokes and I felt like I was part of the family. The move went surprisingly quick, even considering the elevator situation and the snow/rain/gross mix (thanks Wisconsin). Moved everything into our new place, and reassembled the bed and put everything where we wanted it. After they were done, Tim said he felt bad for them tracking in snow and some mud on the front carpet and knocked off $30 just because. I said I would have done the same if I tried do it myself, but he didn't accept no for an answer. Hopefully won't be needing to move soon, but will definitely be recommending to friends!

I had left my house while they were packing up my home office so…read moreI could work from a second location and told them to call me when they were done and ready to go to the new house. They called after they had already arrived at the new house, so I stopped by the old house to make sure they had locked up. Turns out left my front door wide open (not just unlocked actually OPEN). I didn't want to make a big deal of it so I locked up and met them at the new house and mentioned quietly to one mover what had happened. They were very apologetic. The next day while unpacking we noticed things missing, so I went back to the old house to see if anything had been left. They left 2 carloads of stuff in the house, and left half the windows on my second floor OPEN. It got to -13 degrees that night and my windows were open. I called the company to complain and was told they would call me back. I waited a week, called again, was told they would call me back. Waited another 2 days, called back and was told "The movers don't open windows. They don't lock/unlock doors. It's your responsibility to make sure they remove everything from your house." I was told I could come in and have a meeting with the movers, I'm not entirely sure what that would accomplish since either they lied to management or management is lying to me. Manager at the company told me if I wasn't willing to watch the crew like hawks and basically be their supervisor I shouldn't have hired them. I wish someone had told me that before I paid them nearly $3000. Manager told me if I wanted to tell the world about my experience to go right ahead, and if I ever needed to be moved again to call Mayflower. I suggest you all do the same.
