Thank you Heart 6!! A big huge shout out to Austin as our guide. I surprised my husband with an…read moreexperience for his birthday and our 20th anniversary. Can I say that this tour/horseback ride was the cherry on top of our Grand Teton vacation. Austin is very charismatic, sincere and knowledgeable. As our guide he really made the experience just as fun as the beautiful views. I hadn't been on a horseback ride before. Austin made sure our whole group felt safe, attended to and gave all the attention needed during our entire ride. Thank you to all for your kindness on making this a forever beautiful memory!

We would definitely do the three hour ride again. Somewhat disappointed we didn't get to see as much wildlife as we'd hoped, but see some unexpected wildlife was fun too. We see otters at our home in Florida, but apparently they aren't as common at Grand Teton National Park. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't perfect with rain the last part of our ride, but our guide ensured everyone was safe with the slippery conditions. The horses all look well cared for and that is important to us as well, since we also own horses. Riding horses that are rented in a group, is never the same as riding your own horses, but the horses were better behaved than most rental horses. We'd definitely do this ride again with the Heart Six Ranch and request our guide, who is from Texas and been with this ranch for three years, as well. Thank you Heart Six for a very fun experience!

My friend and I booked a cow elk hunt with Wood River in October and I can't say enough good things…read moreabout this hunt. From the day we arrived we were treated like we were family. The accommodations were clean and comfortable. The food was like you were eating at a high end restaurant every night. Our guide had grown up in the area and was very knowledgeable about where the elk would be moving and where we needed to be. We shared a lot of laughs with him but when it came time to hunt, it got very serious. Like any elk hunt, there was plenty of walking at some altitude so come in the best shape that you can. The hard work paid off as we both tagged out on the second day. Once we got the elk off the mountain and in the cooler, the guys helped us pick out a processor to take them to. I would highly recommend Wood River to anyone that is looking for a Western elk hunt and wants to be treated like their trip really matters to the outfitter.

We had the opportunity to visit Wood River Ranch recently, and had a wonderful time. We stayed in…read moreone of the "Hawk's Rest" rooms, which was very clean and well kept. In addition, the staff was very welcoming, and made us feel like one of the family. The ranch itself is located in a beautiful valley, which is teaming with wildlife, such as antelope, elk and even moose, all of which we saw. While at the ranch, we had a lot of relaxing down time, but also did some great hikes as well some fishing. With the Wood River just a short walk across the road, we were able to fish several times, and caught (and released) a number of very nice cutthroat trout. Since we flew into Cody, we spent some time in town and highly recommend that you set aside at least a half or full day for the Buffalo Bill Historical Center. We were pleasantly surprised by both the quality and quantity of western art, historical displays and the firearm collection. It is truly a world class museum. Since the ranch is also an easy drive from Yellowstone, we took a day trip to the park, did a driving tour, two different hikes, and still had time to stop in Cody for dinner on the way home, and then stop at the Cowboy Bar in Meeteetse for a night cap. The Cowboy Bar was like stepping back in time, and you could really feel the history. I mean really, how often do you get to have a drink in a bar that Butch Cassidy drank in! In summary, we had a great time at the ranch, and the surrounding area, and would highly recommend that you visit yourself.
