Not only were Mick and Zach very professional, but they were so helpful, accommodating, and friendly. They took us to several beautiful spots along the way at which we stopped to take a break and take in the lovely environs. The horses were all very good and perfect for this ride. I think I had a smile on my face the whole time!! When we completed the ride I looked at my husband and daughter and said, "Wow! I could do that again tomorrow!" One side note I was really surprised they didn't have locks on the cabins but from the get go it was like a small village feel and everyone including the staff were all so friendly and helpful. Horse rides were offered everyday. We went up and down the steep hills and felt totally taken care of by the wranglers. The views were spectacular. We had never been to Wyoming, or even that part of the country for that matter. We were in awe of the wide open spaces, snow capped mountains and everything in between. Such a beautiful region. My wife did her research and thought the Lazy L&B would perfect for us. And it was! Deb, Jason and family provide great service. It is adorable with a small "lodge" and adorable cabins. You can truly recharge while being unplugged. No TVs to be found and only WiFi is at the lodge. The other guests were great to get to know and you knew this place must have something special when we found out six guests were returnees and so happy to be back. Chris and Mary have come the first week(s) of June every year for over a decade! Chef Beau was fantastic with great food every day. Loved the Bison filet and steak campfire BBQ. Great set of wranglers are brought in each summer. And we could not imagine a better group than what we had the first week of June. The highlight was the horse rides through the beautiful Wyoming countryside. Up and down mountainsides and through gorgeous valleys. My wife rode all 6 days, including the midweek 8 hour ride! Deb and Jason make it a true family feel all week. Very accommodating to any needs and truly concerned for any issue you may have. When we had family dinners it was truly a family. All wranglers, workers, guests, Deb, Jason and family would dine and visit together. Great bonding experience for everyone at the Lazy L&B. Great week! So much so we booked for next year!!

This past Monday July 7 at 2:28, my husband and I were on the main highway. We stopped along the…read moreroad with several other cars as the tour from your ranch were crossing. One of the guides was struggling with the horse he was on. It was doing circles while he was on the highway waiting for others to cross. Once everyone had crossed and he was on the dirt, he proceeded to hit his horse several times in the neck, which appeared to be with a lot of force. We were appalled and this type of abuse to this horse should never happen. I suggest you terminate this employee or take any necessary action. What we witnessed was awful and I hope this isn't typical of the way your Ranch treats these beautiful animals.

Throughout the ride, the guides will share fun insights about the horses themselves, the local wildlife and plants, the ranch itself and of course the Grand Tetons. They welcome all skill levels - even total beginners like me. The guides take the time to teach you how to direct and handle your horse, and the horses are very well-behaved. They also keep the group small, which makes the experience feel much more personal. You'll see stunning views of the Hoback area, the Snake River Canyon, and the Teton Range. You'll ride to see a spectacular view of Bidger Teton National Park. The guide is so nice that he will take pictures of you on your horse with the scenic background. Mill Iron Ranch was an unforgettable experience. We were a group of four women with zero horseback…read moreriding experience, and we did this to try something new and celebrate a birthday. I'm so glad we chose Mill Iron. The trail was breathtaking, reaching a couple thousand feet in elevation with stunning views of the Grand Tetons. It's very beginner friendly, and even the kids, both 9 & 11 years old, in the other our group had no trouble keeping up. We did the group ride instead of a private one, but it still felt personal and small with just one other family, we were a total of 8. Cole, our guide, was fantastic. He kept a safe, easy pace, took breaks for us and the horses, and even took group photos once we reached the top. A quick heads up for those considering the 2-hour trail ride: you don't get off the horse the entire time, so expect a little soreness or stiffness by the end. But honestly, it's so worth it. The staff is kind, professional, and clearly care deeply for the horses. We learned that each horse only does one ride a day to avoid being overworked. If you're on the fence about trying horseback riding, take this as your sign. Go for it, you won't regret it.
