Our laminate floor started separating about 6 months into its life. They sent someone out to glue the pieces together. That lasted about a week. Next they filed a claim with Shaw flooring. Their rep wrote that it was homeowners fault for using water on the floor. The floor has never seen water. We have always used the Bona laminate floor cleaner that was suggested by Focalpoint. Focalpoint is not willing to work with us at all. Also, are carpet, that we upgraded from the builder grade, is pulling away from seams, fraying and badly matted in the high traffic areas. They came and stretched the carpet once and again basically said we were SOL. It's nice to know a company cares about the products and the people they are working with. Good luck to you if you choose to go with them.

The pricing was fair, the quality of the work was excellent, and John kept me updated throughout the entire process by sending photos of the flooring installation and hardwood refinishing. I am just tired of the disruption to my families and my life. I am 100% unhappy with the quality of work and the unfinished result. It started with the installation of the wrong carpet... now it has taken them 5 times to come and fix issues with the wood floor they installed. They said they would install vent covers... they did only half. There are molding issues, chipped edges on end boards, unlevel flooring and no real attempt to make it right... even though they pleaded that that was their goal. This was a $20k error in judgement on my part ... please do not enter into agreements with this company. Satisfaction is not one of their goals.

Thankfully, I got a second opinion from Dave's Master Floor Care. Dave carefully inspected the entire floor and explained that refinishing was possible -- and he delivered outstanding results with good value. Dave is thorough and an excellent communicator. He explained the types of wear on my floors and outlined his refinishing strategy step by step. With little room for error on this type of flooring, I appreciated his clear approach -- there's no "undo" button with refinishing! Dave also has tools I've never seen before -- it felt like he had a gadget for every challenge that came up. Plus, he's been doing this for years, so he knows how different stains and woods react. I even learned a bit along the way. And the best part? Dave does the work himself. Sometimes he brings an assistant to help with simple stuff, but you're really hiring him -- not a random crew. We live in a wooded area, and at some point a branch had damaged part of a 28 foot section of the gutters, bending the gutter and gutter guard which keeps debris out. I noticed this when clearing leaves and debris off the roof. I gave them a call, hoping that I could get by with just replacing this one section. One of their guys came out (forget the name), started inspecting flashing and other things and I started to dread the list of all the wrong things he was going to find. After a few minutes, he told me that everything else looks good, and that he could straighten the gutter, straighten the guard, and secure it better. He did this.. took maybe total of 20 minutes. When I asked what the cost was, he told me no charge. Cannot even tell that the gutter had been damaged. Can't get better service and care than that. Highly recommended
