Centrally located amidst a festive area of international restaurants, cafes, and shops, Hotel Transit is pitch perfect. Simply put, there is heart in every aspect of this place.
Spacious, seemingly freshly painted, white rooms (with blue or other color curtains etc.) come with at least one extra bed against the wall to use as a settee; nice comforters and pillows; cute table and chairs; plethora of shelves. Expansive wall of Cathedral-tall windows which open fully so you feel as if you have doors to the outside in your room. Ask for a room that faces out to the side of the building, with patio of Italian restaurant in view, (rather than facing inside of the Quad.) Beautiful sun shines into these rooms for most of the day.
Then there's the daily breakfast buffet: Museli, fruit, yoghurt, four or five kinds of breads, sometimes croissants, three kinds of cheese, four cold-cut varieties, cukes, tomatoes, radishes and more. The best part however is the staff. They are all warm and gracious, making the Transit feel like home. Isa, Albert, Jan, and Michael Kuhn stand out as superlative hosts. Oh, and did I mention the all-night bar in the big main room?
