I have been going to Diena for over 5 years now and I never leave disappointed! She did small impeccable box braids on me and I cannot believe the elegance of these braids! I have been a loyal customer to DSN braiding over the last couple years. However, the last the service I received was horrid. The straw that broke the camels back to say the least. I always get a simple and common service, knotless box braids, typically mid back to waist length. Bringing in the new year of 2024 seemed to also bring in fake, poor, low quality braiding hair, and unsatisfactory customer service. The hair that was used for this appointment left my scalp so itchy I could barely make it through sitting in the chair to finish getting my hair braided. All in all the experience was horrible. The stylist at this institution that I've been involved with are always late, leaving you sitting in the style seat for 30+ minutes past your prior start time. The unprofessionalism of taking personal phone calls throughout the whole service for everyone to hear is unbearable. This is definitely not an institution for people who have busy schedules and high standards. You'll be there ALL day. I normally I don't write reviews but I have to share my experience at DSN. I got Senegalese twist, the front section of my head looks amazing the twists are tight but the back section twists are loose and hair is sticking out. When I got home and looked in the mirror I notice that the back of my head The Twist were not tight my hair was sticking out. So I called the owner and expressed to her that I didn't like the back section of my twists and ask her can they redo the twists that there were loose and where my hair was sticking out. She told me to send her pictures so I did and she never respond to me. It has been 24 hours and I haven't receive any response from her. She acted as if she didn't care about my experience at her shop and that my hair wasn't done properly. You decide if you want to go to this shop but if I'm paying a couple hundred of dollars I expect my hair to be done right. read more

I should've ran for the hills 30 minutes after sitting in the chair when the second person who would "help" braid my hair strutted in and told the other person that she hadn't did micro braids before. In my mind I thought if you can braid then surely you can do micro braids. So against better judgment I didn't protest. The young lady was pregnant and I think newly out of cosmetology school. The lady who started my braids first was very fast and very good and she had completed the front top half of my head and the pregnant girl was still working on the first few. But I was trying to be patient because I had a medical procedure in a few days and needed my hair braided. Again, I should've listened to instinct and said something. Especially after she became very unprofessional talking about the owner and saying she doesn't pay them correctly and is always late with their paychecks. Anyway the one star is because on my way home the first braid fell out. I got home and I called the salon. Anika answered and seemed so unconcerned when I told her my braids were already falling out. She said well the girls that did my hair have left but I could go in the following day. Well I thought I would be able to but I couldn't due to a pre-op appointment. Anyway, it's been about 2 weeks and 1/3 of my braids have fallen out My hair isn't short so there's no reason they should fall out so easy. This is ridiculous. I went to this location because they were close and my usual braid stylist is in Irving. I can honestly say NEVER AGAIN. My 5 year old granddaughter can do better! read more

I have been going to DSN for at least a year no problems from the older african ladies . I had a younger one do my kinky twist, we're not very tight twist worst part she piled mouse and some oil spray combo of the 2 my hair beyond sticky 24 hours later squeeze feels wet still and can hear the sloshy sound. I had to wash my hair 24 hours after it still looks decent,. I will now request the older Braider's too many new Braider's .. $200.00 down the drain read more

I would not recommend this salon for braiding at all. Tried business for first time on a Saturday based on google reviews. Wish I would have checked yelp reviews as well. Noticed next day I had box braids that looked frizzy and appeared as if a rush job was done. I attempted to contact the owner via phone and email. Of course her voice mail box is full and she did not respond to my emails. Unless you know of a specific braider that works there, I would not recommend randomly letting anyone do your hair unless you have seen their work. Shop appears to contain multiple braiders. If you decide to still go, make sure to inspect the work done on hair underneath to ensure braids were done properly. I personally will not be back. read more

I got my hair braided in box braids on 11/10. I was very pleased with the professionalism of her salon. She opens her store at 7am and sure enough she had two braiders there at 7. They got started on my hair at 7:20, as there were two clients ahead of me. More hair braiders arrived around 8-8:30 and soon I had two braiders on my head at the same time. About 70% of the time while I was getting my hair braided, there were two braiders on my head simultaneously. Diena is very kind and professional. She is also very fair. I wasn't quite pleased with one section of my hair and she had them re-do it because she said, "It has to look professional." Her prices are fair. She keeps her salon clean. She has two nice couches for clients to sit in while they're waiting to be serviced. I would highly recommend this place if you are looking to get your hair braided. My braids also turned out nicely. I got my daughter some Senegalese done on Thursday May 18, 2017 and the very nx day several of them were coming apart. I called Diena on Sunday to make a short story shorter I told her what had happened she said well that has never happened before I said well that's a lie because the same thing happened to her the very first time I brought her in, well not much she could say about that because she got caught in a lie. Well she told me to bring her in on Tuesday which was May 22, and to send her some pics of my daughters hair. Well I did today and when I tell you they were something awful. She said she was "Sorry: and said she would fix them. I txt her back and asked when does she want her to come in to get them fixed, this dam women told me Friday, I'm like this &%$#@ got to be joking, so my husband said she told you on the phone yesterday to bring her in after school on Tuesday. So I txt her again to let her know about her and her half done ass staff, to show you how ppl are when they know they are wrong and hasn't treated someone right she never txt me back. Ppl it's always good to follow your first mind but I gave them a second chance because there wasn't a prob. the first time after they screwed up, things were fixed and in a timely manor. Maybe they are just good to their kind but I will never ever put my foot any where near that shop again and trust and believe I will tell the nx person DO NOT let those ppl in your head. My braider where I'm from is worth every $200.00 you give her cause what ever she does will surely lasts at least 3months.
