Not just because they have been in this area for decades, but because they have been reliable throughout the years. This most recent visit was no exception. The exterior of the vehicle looks great, and has a nice fresh-off-the-lot shine. The interior was past due for a little TLC so I went ahead and added an interior clean package. On a scale of 1 to 10, I will give this particular round a 6. While better than it was, the vacuum and dust cloths missed a number of places, and the windshield - the main reason for wanting the interior cleaned - still has some smudges. As an aside, while I can't confirm/may well be mistaken, I think that a number of the photos on the walls in the waiting area are of actual employees that I have seen working at this location. If that's the case, kudos to the company for the authenticity. I'm still giving this four stars because this location usually performs at that level. I'll re-assess next visit. Things to know: * This location is on a busy corner and shares driveway access with a couple other business - be cautious. * This is one of the very few (maybe the only remaining) Mister Car Wash in The Des Moines metro where you can pay to have your car's interior cleaned. If Shawn is such an honest guy, as you initially touted to me, he would have told you HE MOVED THAT BARREL & then told me to drive in & he'd start the carwash. It never started, not one drop of water was ever released. Shawn even apologized to me saying he was sorry he didn't realize it was not working. The power of the wash makes a huge difference than the other competitors. I paid $11.00 this last visit. I could have gone for the $10 wash and still be good. May sound funny but the power of the water comes out in a very rapid circular pulse like way. No other laser wash does this in Des Moines that I've experienced. It's a newer location so it's probably a more advanced technology. Came here on a very nice sunny day. First day of spring and it was the sunniest day of the week and we were able to get in within a few minutes. I'm sure it can get really busy on a sunny day. We probably just got lucky. Total wash time was 7 min from start to finish. Def would recommend if you're in the neighborhood!

I used to consider it one of the best DIY car washes in the metro area. About two years ago things began going downhill in a big way. The soft water rinse hasn't worked 90% of the time I've tried to use it. About 2/2 of the time nothing comes out of the wand when the pre-wash mode is selected. Tonight I couldn't get soapy spray when high pressure wash was selected nor did soft water rinse work!! This was the last time I'll visit either Ultimate C W location. I suggest others save their money and find another car wash too. I would give zero stars if I could.
