Hair (6hours later)
Michele C.

I typically wear my hair in a curly afro. I do not have a relaxer. I do have a head full of color and highlighted hair. Although without a relaxer, I am able to achieve/maintain straight/sleek looks with heat application. I've seen a few tik toks recently highlighting people with thick/textured/curly hair and their blow outs at the Dry Bar. I booked an appt via the website. If you provide your email address they will send you $10 off your first visit. Note: you must provide your email address to book online so snag that discount. There is free parking across the street (major plus). The salon is clean and inviting (major plus). The tik tok girls were offer champagne and/or mimosas, I was offered tea or water (slightly disappointed). When I arrived all the stylists had hair texture like mine, so I had no worries about someone being able to style my hair. The shampoo was nice and shortly thereafter I was seated and ready for my blow out. I'm not used to this type of brush and blow dry treatment. The brush bristles were not something I would typically use to style my hair. The blow dryer was very hot. I had to pull away once because my scalp was burning. My stylist made adjustments and I didn't experience the heat issue again. Following the blow dry my stylist moved to the flat iron. There are no mirrors in front of station so I couldn't see any of the progress. Once done I thought it was nice. I asked for big curls. It wasn't the typically curls I would wear but I knew I could easily adjust at home. I inquired about the membership (it wasn't reviewed/offered) and decided a monthly blow out (wash, condition, detangle, blow dry) sounded like something worth adding to my routine. Fast forward 6 hours later and my curls are completely gone and my hair big/full. I can easily maintain my hair at home so adding curls will not be an issue. But I do warn, this is in no way a silk press (nor intended to be). It is convenient and quick way to have someone else wash and blow dry. Also, I highly recommend a trim and treatment before arrival. Trim bc this service isn't offered here and treatment because of the heat tools.

Unfortunately my experience was a bummer! I paid $64 for blow and left a tip - stylist was nice but not fully qualified

After reaching out to Lisa about pricing and the services I wanted, she personally called me to discuss my concerns which I really appreciated. Lisa is the owner of Studio L, and is extremely professional, skilled, and friendly. She listened to what I exactly wanted, and offered her recommendations. I originally came in to get highlights, but she thought a balayage would be better for my hair. I ended up loving how my hair turned out! I think I found my go to hair stylist in Baltimore! Highly recommend!

Lisa, at Studio L, is one of my favorite hair stylists and her salon provides such a great experience. Nested right by the Dizz in Remington, this row home converted to a salon provides an atmosphere that is warm and inviting. She has refreshments to sip while you wait and various products, if interested, to try in your hair. I really appreciate that she's never tried to sell me products especially if I'm not particularly interested in them. She is great at looking at an image I bring in or description of what type of look I'm going for and matching it. I trust her with my hair color and my hair cut and refer my dearest friends to her. Most importantly, she is affordable! She never rushes your cut and color but does respect that your time is valuable. She makes her customers feel like they're the top priority in the salon. She has also used products on my hair that are particularly safe and not filled with harsh chemicals.

I missed the head massage and hot towel treatment I used to get at the Aveda Salon I frequented in Florida. My first salon experiences in this area incorporated lukewarm hair washing water and no head massage. I couldn't do it anymore. Soiree knocks the hair washing service out of the park. They have their own crew completely responsible for washing hair, massaging scalps and providing hot towel treatments. My daughter likes it so much that one time I was having my hair taken care of, she just asked if she could have hers washed. They fit her in right in. You best believe there is no lukewarm water here. My haircuts themselves are also top notch. Dani is really good at her job. Not only with the actual cutting and attention to detail with my hair but also with the conversation. I am always sad when the haircut is over. It all goes too quickly. Scheduling and rescheduling appointments is super easy. They send text reminders so that I am never surprised when it pops up on my calendar. I look forward to my visits to Soiree. I know my family feels the same way.

okay, I've really debated making this review for a few weeks now…read more Ive been to Fringe a few times, I really like the salon itself. I enjoy the banter between the employees, the environment is really cute and welcoming, no one seems arrogant, but pretty laid back, however, im a fairly shy and anxious person, my stylist is always very chatty which is great because it helps relax me a bit, my stylist is always very sweet, and I truly believe they are a great stylist, just maybe not the stylist for me. Each time I have gone, my hair cut had been completely different than what was requested. I prefer an angled bob, but decided to try something different and go shorter due to some serious breakage and damage to my hair. But what I got vs what I requested and showed are to VASTLY different things, to put it mildly, I have a men's haircut, which is TOTALLY different from what I asked for and the pictures I submitted prior to my appointment and the consultation I had prior to my hair being cut. I paid, and tipped and walked out. this is possibly one of the worst haircuts I have ever had. my stylist compared it to a pixie cut, however, that is very clearly NOT what they gave me, and not even what I asked for / or showed them. I would suggest that if youre planning to go to this salon, be VERY VOCAL about what you want. maybe i should have spoken up, but I didn't realize how awful it was until my hair was dried. My hair is starting to grow out now, but it will be several months before I achieve the style I originally requested. I'm horribly embarrassed. It sucks, because I do really like the salon itself, but after this, I wont be coming back.
