The dry creek is under new ownership, it is now the T&D Ranch. The new owners are very nice people and the younger gentleman who runs it is very nice as well. They have a very great trainer working at the facility now as well, very well known and knowledgeable. This a very family oriented place and full of good energy and nice people. This place does not have horse trainer.my mom sent her horses there and in over 90 day her gypsy gypster was not trained he spooked at everything and now when you walk in his stall he jumps to the wall like he's going to be beaten.they whipped him to get him in the trailer but then again Arica was but hurt that she didnt get to keep him .so sorry about that Arica. We originally contacted them for training. But brought in borders as well. Verbally everything is wonderful. Once words become actions is where things become a problem. Over the course of 60 days we had 3 horses in for training. Horse 1-needed miles Horse 2-needed to be started under saddle Horse 3-needed to be finished under saddle and massively desensitized. After 20 days the trainer came to me and my wife and said horse 1&2 only need two more weeks of training and will be ready to go home, he then asked for the payment for those days in advance and then asked once more two days later. Mind you, our original 30 day contract was not yet completed. Once our 30 day contract ended we enlisted for another 30 days feeling confident with their progress. During that period, little to nothing was done. My horses are in the same physical and mental state as they were from when they started. My wife and myself we a number of times and worked them with seeing little to no improvement. Once confronted about the matter, excuses were made. We were told we would receive daily and weekly updates/videos/pictures. We received zero. When tried to make appointments to work and review with trainer. Never on time, or would flake last minute and not what was previously discussed to be worked on during these sessions. For boarding, we have three horses. All have been on a grass fed diet for the past 5 years and due suffer from allergies, and previously having known colic. When you drop your horses off they have you fill out an information packet. Asking what feed or special instructions. We wrote down grass hay amounts varying per each horse with NO ALFALFA as well as verbally discussed this to each member of their staff prior and post to bringing our horses. After the first week, we noticed our horses lost some weight. To be expected in new environment. After week two, My wife and I began buying and bringing our own hay. After being there daily feeding and sometimes even cleaning my own horses stalls We began to notice the trainer was never there during the 3-5 hours We were there working all 6 of our horses and feeding and cleaning the boarders. Additionally, we discovered they were feeding our horses alfalfa after explicit instructions not to. All I can say is I'm thankful no one was injured and I'm glad to be out. read more

Boarder beware! If you care about your horses welfare I wouldn't suggest taking your horses to this facility. The property is trashed, all of their stalls leak when it even rains lightly. The round pen can be snapped with little effort and the footing in any one of the three pens/arenas isn't fantastic. It doesn't help that they never rake or water them. On top of that they also have issues feeding your horse what you say they need to be fed. My horse went without their alfalfa and grain on multiple occasions and not to mention having disgusting water that never gets scrubbed or cleaned. read more

This ranch is not a safe ranch for horses. The owners are not "horse people" with no relevant experience running a ranch or dealing with horses. They are new in the area - recently moved from Arizona /Cali - think about our cold winters in Oregon - and frozen water dispensers in stalls. A horse has already died (colic) since they have taken over. Please, if you love your horse, be very thorough in your investigation of this ranch and new owners. Due to recent management change of what used to be J&p ranch, a total of 38+ horses have relocated to TLM ranch. Management has little to no experience with horses, vet care, and harvesting for feed. Under new management a horse has already passed away (within days of new ownership) Past residents were given 30 minutes to relocate 38 horses including the resident trainers and carers (with their family/children) living on the property. Meaning a weeks rent is owed to each individual boarder which has remained to be seen up to this point. J&P ranch was and is a beautiful facility, made that way by the previous trainers and carers and boarders who have all come to be family through the connections and guidance of Kim and Randy Ewalt. I cannot in good conscience recommend this ranch to anyone in the horse community after seeing what can only be translated as neglect and incompetence regarding the animals and property. BOARDERS BEWARE. This is no longer a safe home for animals and riders and bank accounts. Blessings and hope to those left at this facility. read more

DO NOT BOARD YOUR HORSE HERE. I was a previous boarder from the previous owners and loved this property so I stayed. My horse came up lame with no explanation why. (I was not riding him at the time) the Ranch "nutrition manager" made me have a vet come out. The vet chalked it up as a shoulder injury but wasn't confident. Meanwhile my horse was being fed alfalfa hay against my knowledge and was off the wall crazy. Once I figured this out I requested he be put on grass hay. My horse was "surprisingly" no longer lame. Come to find out my horse was slowly getting poisoned by consuming to much protein that was converting to sugar. Something a nutrition specialist should know... my horse could have gotten EXTREMELY SICK. I got out of there as fast as I could which turned into another complete mess. Upon leaving the owner had no knowledge I had given my two weeks to the ranch managers. I watched to much happen at this facility... horses being beaten with whips, dogs chasing horses like sheep, dogs living in stalls full of feces, chickens running around everywhere, arena taken up by saddles and equipment making it uninviting, horses feeders being removed from their stalls and eating hay where they poop and pee and the list goes on. The place was constantly filled with horsing knocking their stall doors and going crazy when I would walk by. My horse was only being turned out every three days when I thought he was turned out everyday. They don't take care of your horse at all and do whatever they see fit. It's so sad to see this beautiful property that was once so full of horse people and love be ran to the ground. read more
