Lone Pine Park is the most underserved park in the City. It was built in 2007 and grass was…read moreplanted in the middle. A covered picnic area and a few odds and end trees were planted and left to fend for themselves. One is hanging on the ground in the middle of the park that could use most of its lower branches pruned , but after a few requests for help nothing is done. There's a walking path that is nice. I was told they have a total of 4 employees for park maintenance. The surrounding parks at Kennedy, Spring Street, and Cedar links are in pristine shape with bark mulch around the borders instead of noxious weeds. The areas around the walking path are filled with goat head thorns and dead vegetation. I asked the parks why they let this area go to weed and they said it isn't irrigated. They don't have plans to irrigate or improve this park . There's at least a half acre of unused/undeveloped field space that also is a weed patch. It says there is a playground on site but there is none. They put in a splash pad several years ago but no improvements to grassy areas that are being taken over by weeds. There is a poor tree near the pavilion that is drooping branches on the ground. Help!! City commissioners what can you do do? Take a field trip and compare how this park is cared for vs all others.

Gone are the onslaught of splinters, burns from the hot metal slides and being attacked by the countless wasps hiding in the nooks, crannies and roof peaks. Even back then, this was the park to go to! Fast forward to a recent refresh, the playground is still sprawling and super diverse, something for everyone! Wood has been replaced by plastic and metal but the laughter of kids as they run wild is still here. The only downside is maybe the lack of parking, but on hot summer days you'll find the ice cream truck posted up in the lot closest to the playground. What I really love about this park is that's it's more than just a playground. The greenway cuts through it making bike riding an awesome option. Keeping in that theme, there's a BMX style dirt track with whoops, table tops and fat banks and burms. A comprehensive skateboard park, tennis courts, a huge open grassy area, covered seating for parties and a large dog park round out this sprawling Medford classic.

WELL I came away having one of the best experiences of my life! Warden's (Kikakeci) Canyon is stunning and quite challenging. Steve & Logan are so highly skilled & experienced, I never felt in danger even in the toughest spots. They timed our paddling from perches so well round boulders, rapids and tree limbs. I remembered to stay grounded in my feet and legs...a lesson learned when my tuckass hit a rock so I almost went flying on a not nearly as well guided or equipped class 2 trip last year in Virginia. Noah's guides have the rafts outfitted so well staying grounded in our seats was more than feasible on our ride. Ollie was a skillful driver & wonderful host to us as well just not a river guide that day. Flora & fauna viewing en route & on the ride were superb. Not sure how any outfit could do this better.
