I did that with Higgins CPA for my 2018 taxes and it was a big mistake. They charged me $1100 JUST to go through my prior year returns and make prepaid tax estimates for 2019. They didn't even file my taxes for that cost as I pulled the plug and walked away. The hours spent reviewing my prior returns (which were very simple) were unbelievable. It is clear that this firm counts every second its employees spend (even e-mail responses get logged and invoiced) leaving the customer with a large bill. When I've told other tax professionals about my bill from them, they couldn't believe it. Stay away, I wish I had.
