DO NOT GO HERE! Yes, we are all human and mistakes happen. Unfortunately The Accounting Factor made a mistake on my tax filing from 2020. I am still dealing with this issue years later. And guess who has ghosted me??? OH! The Accounting Factor. This business is very unprofessional. They need to learn how to deal with issues like adults. As most people who have done business with this establishment are aware, the level of competency has drastically decreased. Peng Lim comes off as a nice guy, but lacks the skill set of fulfilling a role of following through with his clients. The accounting factor over books clients to the point they have so many appointments and no time to actually do the work they're paid to do. I was able to complete the work by myself in one day what has taken Peng over several months to do. Peng was tasked with an audit response and in several months never picked up the phone and called the auditor one time. I know because I called and the IRS verified that the only person who has placed a call was myself! Peng failed to respond to a letter from the auditor which put my audit in jeopardy with a notice of deficiency. Peng and the gang of clowns employed at the accounting factor wouldn't respond to my calls, emails or texts. One employee actually had the audacity to try and schedule an appointment to go over the audit progress with me in a month and a half in the last attempt to get some idea of what Peng was doing which was the last straw for me. Do yourself a favor if you have more than just a simple tax return and go to a more competent tax company. Peng is only interested in booking as many clients as possible without the capacity to actually do anything more than a tax return. This place almost cost me thousands of dollars read more

I have done my taxes with TAF for the past 5 years, and like many who have given 1-star reviews stated, the quality has gone down significantly each year. Typically, this wouldn't cause me to leave a negative review- I would just simply change tax professionals. However, upon receiving various letters from the state of Utah claiming my taxes have been filed WRONG for the past 3 years, I am now being audited for over $1,000!! The worst part is they gave me the opportunity to appeal the audit with the help of my "tax professional" before a certain day, but with no prevail in hearing back from Peng or anyone at TAF in 2 months, I now have to send in a check. Maybe it was my fault for trusting someone who doesn't specialize in business taxes, or for not knowing how to respond to the IRS on my own, but to have no response whatsoever, is blatantly disrespectful to me and the individuals I have referred to them. Now, our business is being taken elsewhere, and I recommend you do the same. read more

As they have grown each year the quality, and things we once loved about them have diminished, so much so that I wouldn't consider their tax preparation side of the business much different than H&R Block. Our appointment was at 9AM, my husband who travels for work ... was home for the weekend after not seeing the family for almost two months. So I was far more aware of the time. We get there 10 to 9. As we are walking in two ladies are walking together coming in behind us. They rush in to set their bags down and get the front desk up and running. About 10 min after our appointment should have started the front desk gal asks for our tax docs. She scans and starts entering them. It's almost 9:30 and she walks over to me holding one of my documents, starts to ask a question( I knew what she was going to ask because I knew I was going to have to explain that document to my tax person) I as politely as I could interrupted and said are you going to ask me about that odd document she says yes. I said I would rather wait to discuss my private tax documents when I'm not in your lobby, if you don't mind. She said no problem at all. This was extremely off-putting. Then a young man walks in the door around 9:40 with his backpack towards the back. Front desk lady stops him and asks if he can get working on our taxes. He says yes follow me. He hadn't even put his stuff down, go to a random room, computers not up and ready, he's very obviously frazzled. During our tax preparation I asked two tax questions, one of the times he said hmmm I will have to ask someone (he never circled back to that at the end of the taxes) the second question he responded saying I should google that, because google could tell me about the same that he would. He also messed up one part in the middle we explained he plugged in the wrong one... that almost made it so we would get nothing back.(it was related to Uber income. It's truly unfortunate because our first visit here maybe 3 years ago was exceptional I even recommended them to friends and family on Facebook, and today... I wouldn't go back and I can no longer recommend them over any other tax preparation company. Also just a quick side thought having a group photo of all the employees on every single wall, looks like wow they sure live themselves. And you know I'm not exaggerating on the photos. read more

Peng Lim is a tax GOD! After a lifetime of always getting money back on our taxes, our former accountant told us this year we would owe a pretty sizable amount! As not too much changed over the course of the year, we had to get a second opinion and went to see Peng. TALK ABOUT A GREAT DECISION. He was friendly, knowledgable and professional and after about an hour of questions we ended up owing a fraction of the amount. It was a joy just to watch those fingers furiously type as they crunched the numbers! He also gave us some great tips to ensure that next year we save even more money.
