Before Christmas I needed to find a copy place in Neukölln. Not a hard thing to do seeing as you…read morecan walk down the street and pop into any copy shop, but I my German's not so good, and I needed to print something on heavier paper (Adventure Time ornaments, specifically). The shop is literally right outside of the U Karl-Marx-Straße station, and is tucked away in a little courtyard. Everyone there was very helpful, and made sure of exactly what I wanted before they printed everything. For the huge amount of copies I wanted, and for a slightly thicker, higher quality paper, it was absolutely reasonable. While staying in Friedenau with a friend I actually almost hopped on a train to go back to Kopiefrosch!

But for some reason the file I gave them this time would require me to go home and do more to it because they're too lazy to do it. I work in printing for over 10 years so I know the difficultly of the task and this would have taken them less than 5 minutes to complete. I won't be coming back to this as my local print shop anymore. And I won't be advising friends to use this shop anymore. I needed this printing doing today and now because for some reason I have to change the way I give them a file, I won't be able to get the product I need. This place is severely overpriced compared to other print shops in the area (or the whole city for…read morethat matter). I just paid 2,50€ for one single 300g A3 print (which I ended up throwing out because the colors were printed incorrectly). The service is very lacking; it's supposed to be self-service, which is fine, except the printing software does not allow you to change very basic settings yourself, such as setting the correct color profile. This basically means that if you print images or graphics with color, it will very likely come out looking wrong. You cannot change these settings yourself, but if you ask, the staff will still just say that they cannot help. I'm not sure they even know of these things. And it really ticks me off that if you print, say, 50 pages, and you have a few test prints that comes out wrong (because of the above reasons) you still pay the full, overpriced amount for every single page. Any reasonable store would have some sort of good-will discount in those cases. Would not recommend this place at all.
