But now and again I do need to print things. My natural inclination is to love Copy Time because it is open super late and on weekends, and located not too far from my place. But there are some low points. For example, the computers never have my font and when opening Word documents, they always mess up the formatting. That said, I have to always remember to convert things to PDF format so they print off the way I want them to. The prices are also kind of annoying: 50 cents for the first page and 10 cents for every page thereafter. And I get that, but I think if you are printing out a lot of pages, they should only be 10 cents, and the first page 50 if you are only printing one page. But that's just me, and I am silly, and ultimately, it's not super expensive. I have seen both more expensive and cheaper printing places in the city, so beggars can't be choosers. Also, there are a lot of other basic services here, many of which I will probably never have to use. But there is faxing, and copying, and more. And even though you have to ask to find out where the heck your papers are printing to, I like the work space area in front to organize and staple things and such. All in all, pros and cons. Overall though, when I need it, Copy Time gets the job done.

I just paid 2,50€ for one single 300g A3 print (which I ended up throwing out because the colors were printed incorrectly). The service is very lacking; it's supposed to be self-service, which is fine, except the printing software does not allow you to change very basic settings yourself, such as setting the correct color profile. This basically means that if you print images or graphics with color, it will very likely come out looking wrong. You cannot change these settings yourself, but if you ask, the staff will still just say that they cannot help. I'm not sure they even know of these things. And it really ticks me off that if you print, say, 50 pages, and you have a few test prints that comes out wrong (because of the above reasons) you still pay the full, overpriced amount for every single page. Any reasonable store would have some sort of good-will discount in those cases. Would not recommend this place at all.

The shop is literally right outside of the U Karl-Marx-Straße station, and is tucked away in a little courtyard. Everyone there was very helpful, and made sure of exactly what I wanted before they printed everything. For the huge amount of copies I wanted, and for a slightly thicker, higher quality paper, it was absolutely reasonable. While staying in Friedenau with a friend I actually almost hopped on a train to go back to Kopiefrosch!
