The employee who helped me was very knowledgeable and showed me several plants that could survive the extreme heat where I live. He also gave me helpful advice on caring for some plants I've been struggling with. I really appreciated his patience and willingness to help. Hidden gem with a huge selection and variety of plants!…read more After visiting my mother and hearing about her new obsession with Hoyas I decided I should add one to my collection as well. I didn't know this place existed until I found it on Yelp and am glad I visited. When you walk in there are rows and rows of a variety of different plants that are overall healthy and well cared for. I was greeted shortly after my arrival by an man who said to let him know if I needed any help, which I appreciated. He didn't hover over me as a browsed, which is always nice. There are different rooms with everything from plants, metal artwork, pots, planting material, and gifts. The outside area is impressive with a large collection of ferns, succulents, cacti and flowers. I didn't find a hoya I liked but did find a beautiful red Salvia flower and bright pink Geranium I couldn't pass up. Overall the value of the plants is worth it but did see some overpriced plants. I fully support local businesses and understand retail stores don't always carry the quality you get from a shop like this. The man who checked me out was very friendly and wrapped my plants to prevent damage, which was nice. I highly recommend this place!

I walked by her with my phone in my hand and she began Pressing her hands in front of her face while asking "WHY ARE YOU TAKING PICTURES OF ME? It is making me very uncomfortable!!!!!" What?! I was just holding my phone because my husband was walking around town with my mom, who is in a wheelchair, and I wanted to make sure I didn't miss a call from him. I could not care less about the lady working here and especially to take a photo of her. Maybe she is nice on the inside but I wasn't feeling that vibe. My friend had several things at the register to purchase but changed her mind after the lady was being so rude. Whoever makes these beautiful vases I have shared photos of - I'd like to say to you, they are fabulous.

The lady who answered at the florist was so helpful. I let her know about our upcoming anniversary trip, and I was interested in something to spruce up our room a bit. She even stayed on the phone with me while I looked on their website to see the different items she was talking about. After I decided on what I wanted, I gave her our hotel info, paid over the phone, and that was that. I had heard about this little gem, known as the last bookstore in Carmel, but hadn't had the time to stop by until this trip. The selection of books was decent, and the service was good. I was even able to find and purchase a book that had been on my to-read list. The books were reasonably priced but some of the garden stuff was pricey. The Secret Garden was especially relaxing and beautiful. I really enjoyed walking through it, taking my time, and simply taking it all in. Definitely a lovely little spot to visit while in Carmel!
