I called about a dwarf lime tree. He assured me he had them and quoted a price. He said his computer was down and needed cash only. When I got there he said he was mistaken of the price and it was $70 more. He showed me the tree which had green fruit on it. I didn't look at the tag trusting him. I brought the plant to my son place as a surprise gift. My son looked at the tag the next morning and it said it said Meyer lemon, clearly not a lime tree. My son drove to the nursery and confronted the owner. He finally after stumbling on his own words, gave in and refunded the cash paid after my son drove the plant back. My son said shame on him for scalping his parents, a senior couple, with deceit, lies, and overpricing. We will never do business with this crook again. read more

My parents were visiting from out of town and bought me a lime tree as a gift, only to find out they were sold an unripe meyer lemon tree when I looked at it closely. Turns out they were *assured* it was a lime tree with ripe limes ready to eat, they were quoted 2 separated prices over the phone and in person, and were then told they could only pay cash for the higher price of $200. When I returned to find out what happened, the salesman could not explain anything other than he thought it was a lime tree and stumbled over any reasonable explanation as to why my senior citizen parents were lied to. I returned the tree and was refunded, but mentioned that I hoped no one did this to his parents. The salesman actually told me I needed to move on and get over it. Wow! Provide bad, unscrupulous service and then tell the customer how to respond? This is a business practice Im certainly unfamiliar with. read more

Rude, I called to speak to someone about replacing our lawn and wanted to run down some plants and ask if they sell sheets of sod like drought tolerant plants and she told me to speak with a landscaper. Had zero interest in helping out and basically made it sound like I'm wasting her time. read more

Robert was super helpful in going over different options with me for my front yard. He spent a solid 30 minutes answering my questions and providing helpful advice and information. They have loads of options, separated by shade/partial shade/full sun (which makes it easy to pick things out) and lots of native plants. Best of all, super affordable prices. I'll be back for sure. read more

The staff at this nursery were so helpful and knowledgeable about the plants. They do have a delivery service which was so helpful in getting my larger plants to my home. They have a resident cat that doesn't like dogs enter its domain. That's not really a problem when you know it and the staff will alert you. I really enjoy shopping here. read more

the manager is so nice! i went in with a friend to pick out a plant and ended up leaving with a purple cabbage, big hanging plant, an herb of grace, five succulents and a big bag of soil. the succulents were AMAZINGLY cared for, the best i've seen at a nursery i'd say. the manager gave us a rundown on how to care for them and was super friendly and she told us they get a new shipment every week so there's always something new. and i only spent $50 for everything! we will definitely be back! read more

Excellent service, realizing that I was helping my 81 year old grandfather plant a tree that had a permit deadline the drought resistant nursery did everything they could to help me with this mammoth tree. We are so grateful and will always send business their way. The tree will be an excellent place for the great grand kids to have a treehouse in some day. read more

Went there for the first time today. I had called earlier in the week to order some trees and was very happy to learn that they could have them at the nursery in just a few days. They received them on Friday as promised, and called me to let me know they were ready. We stopped by the nursery today to pick them up and the staff was so nice... we got a warm welcome the moment we stepped foot into the nursery and enjoyed browsing. I will definitely be back and probably will be ordering all my plants through them from now on. Every single plant in the place was healthy and beautiful, and the property looked well cared for. I recently had a not so great experience at a different nursery in Salinas so I was very happy today at Drought Resistant Nurseries - the whole transaction, from first phone call, to their follow up, to picking up and paying today was so effortless. read more
